↳ Highly recommend taking the public bus system because it is SO easy and convenient! You can buy unlimited passes at the post office. The bus routes are not on Google Maps, so you have to refer to the bus schedule. Remember: PINK = going towards Hamilton | BLUE = going towards St. George
↳ Make sure to greet locals! Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Evening
↳ Make sure you don't *only* wear your bathing suit on the bus or in public settings. Bermuda is still a place where long-time locals live, work, play, and you don't want to just prance around in a wet bikini like an obnoxious tourist!

There is plenty more to do/see on the Island that we didn't get around to, but we saw a good amount in the roughly 5 days we were there.

FOOD (breakfast and dinners were at the Pompano Beach Club)
other eateries we tried:
- Swizzle Inn (we enjoyed the fish sandwiches here)
- Bailey's Ice cream (across the street from the Swizzle Inn and next to the Crystal Caves)
- Art Mel's Spicy Dicy (small takeout joint with great fish sandwiches; there was no seating in or outside when we visited - we took a quick bus back to downtown Hamilton and ate on a bench there)
- De Island Shack (casual spot for sandwiches and more)
- Wahoo's Bistro & Patio (in St. George's, casual sit-down restaurant)

We got around the island via the public bus which is easy to navigate. Taxis are more expensive, but weren't too bad. I recommend taking the bus unless you are pressed for time or have a lot of luggage on you.

Bermuda
Historically known as the Bermudas or Somers Isles) is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. The closest land outside the territory is in the American state of North Carolina, approximately 1,035 km (643 mi) to the west-northwest. Bermuda is an archipelago consisting of 181 islands, although the most significant islands are connected by bridges and appear to form one landmass. It has a land area of 54 square kilometres (21 sq mi).

Port Royal Golf Course
The course was the creation of golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones. The course was finally completed and opened in 1970. More recently, it underwent renovation in preparation for the hosting of the 2009 PGA Grand Slam of Golf. It is now home to the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), also known in short as Norwegian, is an American cruise line founded in 1966, incorporated in Bermuda and headquartered in Miami. It is the third-largest cruise line in the world by passengers, controlling about 8.7% of the total worldwide share of the cruise market by passengers as of 2018. It is wholly owned by parent company Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

Norwegian Pearl is the third of NCL's four Jewel-class ships. She was preceded by Norwegian Jewel in 2005, and Pride of Hawaii (now Norwegian Jade) in 2006. She was followed by Norwegian Gem in 2007. Each ship has different amenities, but has a similar exterior and interior design.

Norwegian Pearl has a similar exterior appearance to NCL's Dawn-class ships; Norwegian Star, which entered service in 2001, and Norwegian Dawn, which entered service in 2002. The interior design and amenities, however, are significantly different and merit Norwegian Pearl a Jewel-class designation.

Best Time to Visit Bermuda for Vacation

The best time to travel to Bermuda depends on avoiding the cooler winter months and rain in late summer and most of the fall.

Bermuda weather is often attractive on this island paradise -- not too hot, not too cold. Located just 650 miles east of North Carolina, Bermuda shares the same seasons as the United States but with much milder seasonal changes.

Just as the winter months are the coldest in the U.S., they are also coldest in Bermuda. But Bermuda's average winter low is only in the low 60s Fahrenheit.

Winter sea temperatures in the mid-60s are too cold for swimming. But the weather is still mild enough for the many tourist attractions on land that Bermuda has to offer.

There's nothing like a mild winter day to enjoy strolling the cobbled streets of historic St. George, visiting centuries-old churches or touring the working lighthouses.

BERMUDA TEMPERATURES
The average daily high temperature is in the upper 60s Fahrenheit from January through March and in the 70s in April and May.

While August is the warmest month and a favorite time for tourists to enjoy the pristine beaches, it is still a pleasant 86 degrees. Warm enough to bask in the sun, yet not too hot to enjoy being outside.

June, July, and August are the most popular months for tourists to hit the beaches of Bermuda and enjoy snorkeling, sailing, scuba diving, or simply savoring the sun.

Average high temperatures stay in the mid-80s during September, then drop into the 70s from October through December.

Sea temperatures reach the low 80s in July through September, making those months ideal for swimming and lying on the beach.

BERMUDA RAINFALL
Summer is the most popular time to visit Bermuda, but it also is a time for more rainfall.

The island has rain about 15 days each month give or take a few. The low point for total rain is May, which makes it the ideal month for Bermuda's famous beaches and golf courses.

The amount of rain averages less than five inches a month throughout the year. It starts to climb in June and hits a high of more than six inches in October during the peak of the Caribbean hurricane season. It drops back down to normal levels in November.

Walking (and ferry boats) in Bermuda - What to do on Your Day in Port

We take the ferry into Hamilton, Bermuda from King's Wharf. Then we take another ferry to the Belmont Ferry stop. Then we walk across the island to Warwick Long Bay and Horseshoe Bay.

Bermuda is an excellent group of small islands to visit! To many people's surprise, it's located off of the east coast of the United States and is not south of Florida in the Caribbean. The preferred method for transportation in Bermuda is motorcycle or scooter. Locals are only allowed to have one car per household and all cars on the islands are very compact in size. The food is excellent and the weather is incredible. The water is so clear and colorful that it looks fake. Definitely eat Bermudian Fish Chowder while in Bermuda and drink a rum swizzle! Confidence in riding a motorcycle or scooter is not a must (there are plenty of taxis) but it's definitely the most exciting and inexpensive way to explore the islands. For about $7 US worth of gas, one should be able to ride from one tip of the island to the other at least once without having to gas up. I strongly suggest renting a scooter from Oleander cycles and stopping everywhere that looks interesting. The locals are friendly and it's a safe place to explore. Some of the most popular spots are Horseshoe Bay, Elbow Beach, Hamilton, St. George's and the Royal Naval Dockyards. I recommend visiting all of these places but some of the less heard of places like Shelly Bay are some of the best spots! Also, be sure to tour the Crystal Caves. Oh and don't forget to wear a shirt while riding a scooter. I wanted to get a little extra tan while riding but was told that it's illegal to ride a motorcycle or scooter in Bermuda with no shirt! Also, for snorkeling or diving, the Constellation & Montana shipwrecks are spectacular! We're not divers but snorkeled over the shipwrecks and could see everything.
