The New Air India - A350 Inaugural Flight
I flew on Air India’s new flagship, the A350-900 inaugural flight. This is the first plane that wears the new Air India livery. It is the first of 470 planes Air India has on order which is worth $70 billion. Can Air India regain its former glory?
My Air India A350 flight started from Mumbai to Chennai. The Business Class cabin has 28 fully enclosed private suites. Followed by Premium Economy cabin which has 24 seats and Economy with 264 seats. The crew on this flight wore new Air India uniforms with bright colors.
The humanities on these inaugural flights shine! The flight was in celebration mode with many aviation enthusiasts onboard, all wishing Air India well. The new A350 is leaps and bounds ahead, a complete change from the old Air India.
Upon landing in Chennai, I remained onboard for the next sector to Bengaluru. The captain has shared that the initial domestic flights were for training purposes before the A350 being inducted for long-haul international flights. The next sector was just 40 minutes but Air India served a meal onboard, it was hot vegetarian biryani.
Air India expects to receive 5 more A350-900s by April 2024. The airline has ordered a total of 20 A350-1000s and 20 A350-900s. Until the end of Feb, the A350 is deployed on domestic flights flying to the cities of Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Delhi.

Kerrville is one of those special Hill Country towns where you can stay with tradition or try something new. Whether your idea of a good time is kicking back with a beer, jumping into a swimming hole or strolling through incredible art, this is your 'ville.
Downtown Kerrville is a great place to start your day. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast at the Hill Country Cafe, which is also the site of the first ever HEB or fueling up with espresso at the fashion-forward, velvet cushioned coffeehouse PAX. Another spot worth checking out is Schreiner Goods, an upscale department store named for the original pioneer Charles Schreiner, Sr., “the Father of the Hill Country.”
In town is the headquarters of Texas’s most beloved jewelry maker. Tour the visitor’s center and store to see how James went from tinkering silver in his garage for nearby church camps to a global phenomenon. The museum also shows the entire manufacturing process from beginning to finished product.
This is Kerrville’s largest art installation, and also one of the largest in the US. It’s a beautiful representation of the life of Jesus, with sculptures depicting various stages of his life and the Bible spread out across the garden, with a 77-ft. tall cross in the middle. It’s a monumental work of art, designed to inspire and encourage, no matter your beliefs.
Out in Ingram, or “West K” to the locals, the Stonehenge II replica invites all who want to walk on the weird side. And to add to the oddity of this artwork are the neighboring Easter Island heads.
Handcrafted beer, gourmet food, weird murals — everything you need for a good time. The beer was brewed with the smooth finish in mind, resulting in a clean and refreshing sip. The food is made locally — with artisan pizza, scratch-made pretzels and pulled pork sandwiches from the local farm.
Grocery Store, Bank, and Local Pub? You got that right! Since 1946, this has been the cornerstone of Hunt, TX — and for good reason. They do all the things you’d expect a country store to do well — chicken fried steak, burgers, etc., plus more! Order the Hot Cruncy Shrimp with Mango Aioli for a shock to your tastebuds!
When the weather gets hot, the locals get slidin’. Right on the Guadalupe River the Ingram Dam is the Hill Country’s greatest (and most natural) waterslide. You can also drive up stream and find a more quite spot to hop in.

Episode 40: Rules to Cruise by in Turkey, time for a bottom job and Black Water tank clean out in Turkey
This episode Cass and Shelly continue their adventures as they follow the rules and regulations of sailing in Turkey. Black water tanks are a strictly monitored item while sailing in Turkey. The regulations states you must keep your black water tanks closed at all times (not just in marinas or at anchor). This requires us to have our tanks pumped out. We were advised by our check in agent to pump it every 14 days. We have now been in country for 12 days and we don’t want to go over so we will pump a few days early. We haven’t done this before on the sailboat but we’re somewhat familiar with the process because of our power boating days on a lake. We show how easy it can be to pump out and still have fun. It doesn’t have to control your time cruising.
We motor in calm beautiful blue seas towards OREN Marina, get pumped out, top up our water and provision in OREN Bay before heading onto Akbuk Bay. We have calm waters so we take that opportunity to complete a few boat jobs such as scraping our bottom, scrubbing the fenders, cleaning the dinghy, rinsing and cleaning extra lines (ropes) on the boat, cut the lines off which haven’t been whipped, whip those lines and fix our cockpit light which has never functioned since we owned the boat. All of the below bays are located in the beautiful Gökova Bay in Turkey

So far, our sailing life has been pretty tame. The weather has been predictable and we’ve sailed mostly when it's been calm. Mallorca teaches us not to rest on our laurels as we face surprise katabatic winds and beat into 25 knots all in the same day. This week’s episode gives a glimpse in to how we handle Talia when the wind picks up and also what to expect if you’re sailing around Mallorca. We visit the beautiful villages of Andratx and Sóller as we prepare to island-hop again to Menorca.
