Hello again dear friends, I'm Danny Paun and I'm pleased to present you my new film about an epic country...Romania! Here we are after a few months with another production that showcases a bit of Romania's nature and beauty. It took us a while in getting this ready just in time for a special day, 1st December, Romania's National Day. LA MULŢI ANI ROMÂNIA!
This time around, we've been hiking the high Carpathian Mountains to get some (hopefully) breath-taking visuals and emphasis on the natural beauty of Romania. Apart from the lovely city of Brasov, we also visit some beautiful villages of Transylvania to film some really amazing fortified churches and fortresses that this part of the world has to offer, it just feels like we were back in time while over there, everything so pure and peaceful. It's been a few months in the making of this production and it was filmed in two seasons, from summer days of July and august to not so hot days of October and November... We'll definitely plan to make a winter edition as it's quite unique over there too :)
Some of the places we've filmed around Brasov: Fagaras Fortress, Rupea Fortress, Viscri fortified Church, Bucegi Mountains, Transfagarasan Road, Peles Castle, Sighisoara and others...

The Red Ravine :-
The Red Ravine, or Râpa Rosie, is a breathtaking geological reserve in the southwest of the Secaselor Plateau, near the city of Sebes. Erosion runoff has caused the distinct sharp appearance of the mountainside, and the 800-meter-long wall is almost completely vertical, reaching heights between 50 and 125 meters.

The strong but elegant Bran Castle, which dates back to 1377, is one of Romania's top destinations. This is mainly because of its associations with a certain vampire – the medieval hilltop castle has been marketed as Bram Stoker's inspiration for Dracula's castle.

Visit the city of Iasi to find the beautiful Neo-Gothic building that houses Romania's Palace of Culture. With 298 rooms throughout its 390,000 square feet, the building houses four museums. These museums are the Science and Technology Museum.

Cluj-Napoca is a young and modern city located in Transylvania. The second-largest city in Romania is also home to the country's largest student population, and it is the unofficial capital of Transylvania's historical region.
Peles Castle :-
This exceptional example of Neo-Renaissance architecture is one of the top attractions in the country. Decorated with ornate stonework, sculpted wood, and stained-glass windows.
Painted Monasteries :-
Located in the northeast area of Romania, Bucovina's painted monasteries are truly one-of-a-kind sights. The exterior walls of a handful of monasteries were painted in colorful frescoes in the 15th and 16th centuries.

Brașov is located in the central part of the country, about 166 kilometres north of Bucharest and 380 kilometres from the Black Sea. It is surrounded by the Southern Carpathians and is part of the Transylvania region.
The city is notable for being the birthplace of the national anthem of Romania and for hosting the Golden Stag International Music Festival.
Brasov: A Medieval Romanian City
It's day four of my road trip and I have traveled 1.272km so far. I have explored Sofia and Bucharest and am heading north to Brasov where I will spend the night. On my way there I will also make a stop at Peles castle. At Brasov I will show you the sights and the old town.

The beautiful city of Brasov has been called the Prague of Transylvania, due to its wonderful old architecture and splendid setting at the base of Mt. Tampa. These photos were personally taken by me during our trip to Romania in May 2006.

Braşov, Romania Travel Video - Legend has it the Pied Piper reemerged from Hamelin in Braşov, and indeed there's something whimsically enchanting about it, with its fairy-tale turrets and cobbled streets. Dramatically overlooked by Mt Tâmpa, with trees sporting a russet-gold coat (and cocky Hollywood-style sign), this is a remarkably relaxed city.
Wander its maze of streets, stopping for caffeine injections at bohemian cafes between losing yourself in a beguiling coalescence of Austro-Hungarian gingerbread roofs, baroque gods, medieval spires and Soviet flat-tops. The city's centrepiece square is Piaţa Sfatului, a people-watcher's mecca. There are myriad things to see here, great restaurants and oodles of accommodation.
Many use Braşov as a base for skiing in nearby Poiana Braşov, trekking in the Piatra Craiului National Park, castle-watching at Bran and hairy drives on the Transfăgărăşan Road.

Cea mai mare biserică gotică între Viena și Constantinopol
Biserica Neagră din Brasov este unul dintre cele mai reprezentantive monumente de arhitectura gotica din România. Până în 1689 numele ei a fost #BisericaSfântaMaria. În 1689 când aproape tot orașul Brașov a căzut pradă unui incendiu mare și această biserică a luat foc. Era atunci biserica principală a comunității săsești, care a trecut în sec.XVI la crezul luteran, deci înainte de reforma luterană ea a fost catolică, dar după sec.XVI, după reforma luterană ea a devenit evanghelică luterană.
După ce a fost distrusă parțial de incendiu a primit numele de Biserica Neagră, pentru că se spune că i s-au înnegrit zidurile atât de mult, încât i s-a schimbat numele în Biserica Neagră.
Biserica Neagră domină astăzi #centrulmedieval al orașului. Este cel mai important monument realizat de sașii ardeleni în istoria lor de 850 de ani. Cu o lungime de 89 de metri, este cea mai mare biserică gotică între Viena și Constantinopol. Construcția ei a fost începută în stil gotic sub prim preotul Thomas Sander, în anul 1383 pe locul unei biserici din prima jumătate a secolului al XIII-lea. Frumusețea sunetelelor care răsună de aici au făcut Biserica Neagră renumită peste granițele țării. Orga, având un număr de aproape 4000 de tuburi, a fost făurită între 1838 și 1839 de constructorul de orgi Buchholz din Berlin și se numără printre cele mai mari orgi de biserică din sud-estul Europei.
