The Faroe Islands in GOOD Weather

Some photography in good weather on The Faroe Islands. This is something we'll soon realize is rare. Tomorrow, prepare for bad weather.
My Faroe Islands photography on Instagram:
Good weather isn't something The Faroe Islands are very well known for. In fact, when I woke up to blue skies I was shocked. I actually didn't know what to do. From a landscape photography perspective, blue skies are hard. But, good weather is so fleeting here that it doesn't make any sense to not go out and try to do some photography. So, that's what we did.
We spent the day driving around The Faroe Islands photographing as many locations as humanly possible. There are just so many beautiful places, that it doesn't really matter if the weather is good or bad.
But, as you'll see on the landscape photography vlog tomorrow, the weather turns quick. And while today's vlog is called The Faroe Islands in GOOD Weather. Tomorrow, we'll get into some bad weather. Stay tuned for that.

The Faroe Islands in BAD Weather

Join us on our trip to the Faroe Islands where we travel island to island, experiencing the country just like a local! Even in bad weather...

In our third and final part of our Faroe Islands trip, we take you through a lot of our cultural experiences in the Faroe Islands, including Sailor's Day celebrations in Klaksvík, a delicious home-cooked meal, and a glimpse at how people traditionally lived at the Open Air Museum. Even though the weather can be bad in the Faroe Islands, it still a place of beauty. One of the best experiences we had was driving when its raining: more waterfalls in one place than we've ever seen! Enjoy!

The most astonishing island I've ever seen - welcome to Kalsoy in The Faroe Islands...

Did you know James Bond died here? Me neither, but to be honest, that's probably the least impressive thing about Kalsoy. Join me on a ferry across to the island from Klaksvík, a bus along the full length of its spine (and through a number of scary tunnels) before we arrive in Trøllanes, a tiny community right at the northern tip. From there, we'll hike the remaining way to the lighthouse along a ridge which I'm trying hard to forget about :D The view from this point is like nothing else I've ever seen - I'd love to hear what you think about it? And the Kalsoy adventure doesn't even end here. On the way back we have an unexpected stop at a breathtakingly beautiful village with a story to tell. Join me on the final part of my Faroese adventure. Thanks for watching.

I don’t pretend to be a travel expert, but I love what I do and would be honoured if you came along with me. My channel focusses on the wide-eyed wonder and excitement of finding somewhere new, and my genuine reaction to it. You might not get a history lesson in my videos, but who knows, you might pick up some useful travel tips along the way, add a few destinations to your bucket list and hopefully be entertained by what you see. Thanks for watching, it means a lot to me :)

I do ALL of this myself. Planning, filming, editing, promoting, all with a weekly upload schedule, so please understand not every video will be an epic adventure. But my pledge is to always do my best in any situation.

FAQs:
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I was born in Glasgow but have lived in Carnoustie, Dalgety Bay, Stonehaven, Edinburgh, Montrose, and further afield (Salamanca, Spain & Devonport, New Zealand)
WHEN DO YOU UPLOAD?
Saturdays at 10am Scottish time. Occasionally a bonus midweek video will pop up.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I film with a GoPro11 and my iPhone12. I edit on iMovie and use epidemicsound.com for music. I also use canva.com for thumbnails etc.
WHY DON'T YOU SPEND LONGER AT DESTINATIONS?
The usual suspects I'm afraid - time and money! Hotels especially these days make my eyes water like a true Scotsman.
WHERE'S ALICJA?
Alicja will feature as often as possible, but I'm afraid she has a proper job so it can take weeks for our schedules to match up.
DO YOU PAY FOR YOUR OWN TRAVEL?
Yes I do. I've only ever accepted a complementary ticket as compensation for a previous problem. All my opinions are frank and honest reflections of travel as I experience it.
CAN I CONTACT YOU?
I used to list my email address but felt bad not having the capacity to respond to everything so took it down (and I got a LOT of spam so missed many genuine messages along the way).
HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE CHANNEL?
Watching my videos is of course support enough, but if you'd like to support further, I'll pop links below for Paypal and Patreon. All kind donations are super-appreciated and will go 100% towards future filming trips.
DO YOU ACCEPT SPONSORSHIPS?
I don't like to upset the flow of my videos, so I don't even include mid-roll ads anymore (at significant loss of income to myself), so I prefer not to include sponsorships either. I'm open to a small slide at the start/end of each video, but I don't want to get into talking about products, it's something I don't like as a viewer myself (especially as a viewer who pays for YouTube Premium). So it's probably a polite no, although all of this goes out the window if you offer me something which can give me the chance to make a video for my audience that would otherwise be impossible.

Discover Faroe Islands: The Country With the Most Disgusting Food Habits? 59 Fascinating Facts

Discover The Faroe Islands: a Paradise with world's most disgusting food habits?

The Faroe Islands is one of the most breathtaking destinations in the world. Its stunning natural beauty, rugged landscapes, and pristine coastline make it a must-see location for any traveler. If you've been fortunate enough to visit this incredible archipelago, then you know firsthand just how awe-inspiring it can be. The islands are home to many stunning waterfalls, including the Múlafossur waterfall on the island of Vágar. This iconic waterfall drops from a height of 60 meters (197 feet) into the ocean below and is a popular tourist attraction on the islands.

The Faroe Islands have a unique charm that captures the hearts of all who visit, and it's no wonder why. However, what truly sets the Faroe Islands apart from other tourist destinations is its cuisine. Have you ever tried fermented fish? How about a dish made from a sheep's head? These are just a couple of the traditional foods you can expect to find on the Faroe Islands. But why do the locals eat such unusual dishes?

In this video, we'll dive into the history of the Faroe Islands and you will learn fascinating things about the island including their language, history, nature, culture, traditions, economy and much more!

How Good is Public Transport in The Faroe Islands? I'll try as many modes as I can in a Single Day.

I arrived in The Faroe Islands with no intention of hiring a car or taking an official tour, but would this really be possible? Join me in Tórshavn as I set out on a day of adventure. The challenge will be to try as many different modes of transport as I can so if you fancy seeing how I got on and what sights I saw along the way, let's get on the road!

WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE DESTINATION?
This can be difficult to pinpoint as I get most pleasure from visiting new places (and often that will be somewhere I've never even heard of). But to try and categorise it, I'd say take me to a small, cold island somewhere the beer is not too expensive and I'll be happy. Any suggestions?

The Faroe Islands: The Adventure Begins

The Faroe Islands are becoming a hot travel and photography destination. I'm going to 10 days to see what it's all about.
My Faroe Islands photography on Instagram:
I'm in the Faroe Islands for 10 days of photography. I'm leading a photography workshop which is actually my first ever photo location scouting VIP trip. I'm excited about this brand of workshop as I think it has a lot to offer new photographers. And, for me, it's fun to get to visit a location and treat it as if it were an assignment but not really have anyone (aside from the participants) to answer to. And, this location is amazing.
It wasn't easy getting to The Faroe Islands, though. I had a flight cancelled for weather. And then when I finally did get on a flight the next day, I had maybe my wildest landing on a flight ever. Shout out to the Faroese pilot who made that landing in crazy weather.
Today's vlog, we're out finding photography locations on the Faroe Islands. My photography workshop starts in 2 days. So, we're sort of prepping and exploring, and finding some cool places to take people to.
Overall, I think this Faroe Islands photography vlog series is going to be a blast!

The Faroe Islands in BAD Weather

Today, we flipped and had The Faroe Islands in bad weather. Terrible weather for photography.
Find my Faroe Islands photography on Instagram at
Yesterday on the Faroe Islands we had such great weather. In fact, at some points it was too nice as the skies were too blue for good landscape photography. At one point, I caught myself wishing for a little bit of bad weather. I wish I hadn't.
You see, landscape photography is so often about bad weather, or at least wild skies and moody clouds. But. today The Faroe Islands weather went a little bit too far. We got crushed by rain and fog. And - not really filmed in the photography vlog today - we spent almost the whole day running around the islands looking for places to take pictures. Sadly, we hardly found any. Still, I think we made today work despite the challenges.
And, on tomorrow's photography vlog, we'll find more places to take pictures here on The Faroe Islands.

???? Scary hiking in the Faroe Islands! #hiking #faroeislands #insta360

Have you ever wondered what it is like hiking in the Faroe Islands? Well, this is what it looks like in bad weather. On days with the good weather the Faroe Islands offer really accessible and amazing hikes, with breathtaking scenery. It is a great hiking destination. There are so many islands to explore and the nature is spectacular. I think it is one of the best places in Europe to go hiking. Are you looking for amazing locations for hiking? Then I think you should consider this place! The Faroe Islands are expensive and it is quite challenging travelling there, but once you are there it is well worth your while (although it does rain a lot in the Faroe Islands, so make sure you bring good rain gear!)
