After Sri Lanka went through such a huge tragedy last year, it was truly inspiring to experience so much positivity and hospitality from the local people. I am very much looking forward to returning to Sri Lanka once we can all travel again, and I really hope you make the trip out to this spectacular place yourself. The Soul of Sri Lanka l Travel documentary film 4K
After we left Sri Lanka in October last year I started editing this travel documentary film. I must confess, creatively it was one of the hardest films to edit for me. When I sorted out all the footage of the places we went to, I had a bit of a hard time working out the original concept. I missed some shots or didn't succeed in capturing the right scenes.
In between other projects pulled my attention away from finishing this edit. A good month ago I picked it up again and decided to make a travel documentary film with the best footage I had. A mix of different scenes, shot in a documentary style (which is kind of new for me) and cinematic style.
This film contains scenes of a few different religions (Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity, Unfortunately I didn’t had the chance to capture Buddhism!) in Sri Lanka, the local life of the fisherman's place Trincomalee. The vibrant streetlife on a rainy day in Colombo and the St Anthony's church, a victim of the Easter bombings.
You will be taken through the beautiful nature of Sri Lanka, from the iconic tea fields in Hatton to the impressive waterfalls of Nuwara Eliya. And...of course, the famous train ride from Kandy to Ella can't be missed before you end on the Pidurangala Rock in Sigiriya, with sunset.
Special thanks to all the people in this film and of course my beautiful actress and love Ilse. We love the people of this amazing country and are grateful we had the chance to experience their souls.

While traveling the country for more than 2 weeks I discovered a new side of the island almost every day. I have been in Sri Lanka for a video production and got to see and experience a lot in a comparably short amount of time.
Accompanied by local guides and wildlife experts I visited several places all over the country: from Colombo through the center where I saw the lion rock Sigiriya, the Kaudulla National Park and the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Then I headed to Trincomalee & Pigeon Island in the north-east, afterwards I flew back and went to the south coast and continued to the Yala National Park as well as the highlands in Kandy.
This way I came to see the best of Sri Lanka!

Hello Everyone. All of us know that Sri Lanka is an amazing tourist destination. According to Lonely Planet Sri Lanka ranks Number 1 spot in the top 10 destinations to visit for the Year 2019. And they have every reason to be on top, as the place is amazing, people are nicest, the weather is superb, food is mouthwatering, culture is rich, wildlife is outrageous, beaches are serene.
But after recent terrorist bombings, this country is still struggling to get back to its momentum. They need our support right now. And the least we can do is to travel to this beautiful Pearl in the Indian Ocean. I recently visited this country and this video is a small trailer about the experiences I had while making vlogs through this island. Full-length detailed vlogs will be uploaded starting next Saturday, July 13th. I have tried to capture the best possible cinematic shots to showcase the actual beauty of Sri Lanka, but No camera or Drone can capture the real beauty of this country because Sri Lanka is not a Destination, It's a feeling.

We just arrived in Sri Lanka and we get on a bus to reach Galle, a colonial fortified town in the south. The bus air con is provided by the doors which are kept always open. We loved at first sight the colorful people and the many tuk-tuks that are around. All Bajaj like the one they we drove in India 10 years ago.
In this travel report, we explore Sri Lanka by bus, train and tuk-tuk. The definition “India for beginners” is not doing justice to this country. We soon learn, that more than temples and landscapes, we are fascinated by its colourful population

This started off just like any other flight. Then it changed and before long we were back where we started but landing under full Emergency Landing conditions.
What Happens in an Emergency Landing and What To Do Next
This is the full story of my journey on Sri Lankan Airlines Flight UL605 from Melbourne to Colombo. Only 30 minutes out of Melbourne there was the smell of burning and smoke filled the back of the cabin.
What happened next is a text book example of how well the aviation industry is trained for these types of emergency events. In this video I cover the full story - how things where handled by the flight and cabin crew - what happened at the airport to prepare for our landing - what happened when we landed - and then I cover exactly what happened next as Sri Lankan Airlines handled 250 disrupted passengers.
Throughout the process I explain it from a passenger perspective but also as someone who works in the travel industry and has been actively involved in crisis management for many years. I'll tell you what was happening behind the scenes.
Then as each step unfolds I'll give you handy hints and tips so that if you find yourself in this situation you know exactly what to do to make it easier and less stressful.
Intertwined within this story is a full Sri Lankan Airlines business class flight review which I happened to be filming when the drama unfolded. So not only do we get to see what Sri Lankan Airlines business class is like these days but was also get to see how they handle things when things go wrong.
It's a fascinating story of the Sri Lankan Airlines Emergency Landing of flight UL605 at Melbourne Airport and what happened next. I hope you enjoy the video.
