Tajikistan | Travel Diary | 2016
In September 2016 we took a spontaneous trip to Central Asian country of Tajikistan, which is less than 3 hours flight from Dubai. We only had two days, spending one of them exploring the capital, Dushanbe, and the second one driving out to the Hissar Fortress and into the Fann mountains to Iskanderkul, one of the most famous lakes in the country. Beautiful trip and with almost no tourism yet.

The Travel Diary - Sri Lanka Chapter_Day 1
Welcome, fellow travelers! Our community trip to the enchanting island of Sri Lanka has finally begun, and Day 1 was an absolute whirlwind of excitement and discovery. First things first, we hopped aboard Sri Lankan Airlines, soaring through the skies with anticipation twinkling in our eyes. The flight was delightful, and thanks to the remarkable Saman Ratnayake, the airline's representative, our immigration process was smoother than a baby dolphin gliding through crystal-clear waters.
As we touched down in Colombo, the heart of Sri Lanka, our spirits soared even higher when we were greeted by our guide Ali. With beaming smiles and open arms, Ali welcomed us to this vibrant city and presented us with cute necklaces that instantly made us feel like honored guests. What a heartwarming gesture! We’ve kept those as our souvenirs ????
Once our excitement settled, we embarked on our journey to a charming old harbor building from the colonial times. Picture yourself surrounded by fascinating tales of history while savoring delectable flavors that tell stories of their own. Ah, the tastes and aromas of that lunch will forever dance on our palates cu we were hungry and what awaited us was a buffet with A delicious variety of local dishes ????
After satisfying our hunger, we made our way to our luxurious hotel for the trip, the marvelous Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo. Nestled by the tranquil waters, this haven offered a breathtaking respite where we could recharge our energy and get to exploring Colombo .
But wait, our adventure was far from over! Soon enough, we came together for exploration of the Colombo city. Our guide Ali, led us through the bustling streets, unveiling the city's hidden gems, iconic landmarks, and the pulse of its vibrant culture. Every corner seemed to hold a secret, every smile we encountered told a different story . Sri Lankans are very warm

As the sun began to set, we found ourselves heading to a Middle Eastern cuisine restaurant, where we indulged in a delicious feast . The tantalizing flavors, the spices dancing on our tongues, and the warm camaraderie shared among our community made this first dinner an unforgettable experience.
And with that, dear travelers, we bid adieu to Day 1 of our incredible journey through Sri Lanka. Join us tomorrow as we venture deeper into this wondrous land, where ancient ruins, tea plantations, and breathtaking landscapes await us. My husband and I have been wanting to go to Bali, Indonesia for a while now, so we finally decided to book a trip with two of our friends and experience it for ourselves. We were also lucky enough to be visiting during Nyepi (the Balinese “Day of Silence”) which is similar to our New Year’s celebration - so we participated in the festivities the day before (shown in this video). A little bit about me - I'm a content creator on Instagram, YouTube, and on my blog at AudrieStorme.com living in Orange County, California (originally from the San Francisco Bay Area). I started posting outfit of the day (OOTD) photos on Instagram about two years ago when I was living in Dallas, Texas for work. I loved taking photos and posting on Instagram so much that I decided to expand and try out YouTube and blogging as well.
When I was living in the city, my personal style was a bit more streetwear 90's grunge, but now that I live in Southern California and closer to the ocean, my style has become a lot more cozy and comfortable with a lot of bohemian influences.
If I had to describe my fashion sense on my blog, Instagram aesthetic, and YouTube editing style now, I'd probably describe it as modern bohemian with an edge, since I tend to wear and do things that might be considered unconventional to others. I'm not sure if that is true, but since I've moved back to California, I just find that I gravitate to what is easiest and effortless for me while living near the beach where it always feels like summer.

Solo in Porto, Portugal ???????? | travel diary pt. 1 | my first time to travel alone!!
Hi friends! Sooooo, I booked a last minute trip to Porto ♡ because if I didn't do it then, I wouldn't have done it for another long while! I must say, it was one of the most wonderful things I've done. I'm still feeling the glow and giddiness from it. I've been meaning to do this a couple of years ago (2020) but God really said not yet ????
There is a right time for everything and I am so grateful to have taken this trip. This first part captures my first few hours in Porto; nervous and overwhelmed but internally joyful to say the least.

LIEUX VISITÉS (EN ORDRE)
1. Blausee - le lac est magnifique mais tout petit ! L'eau est turquoise et apparement c'est naturel. Parfait pour picnicker, se prélasser au soleil ou à l'ombre. La petite forêt l'entourant a l'air mystique !
2. Thun - j'ai bien aimé la vue en hauteur de cette ville ! Les rues commerciales ne m'interpellaient pas spécialement, mais le coin entourant le château est juste magnifique. Beaucoup aimé.
3. Vieux Bienne - la petite promenade avec les animaux. J'ai pu observer les différents styles de maison, découvrir les sentiers 'santé/mise en forme' en forêt et m'extasier devant les belles fleurs qui semblent pousser sans effort partout.
4. Kambly - visite de l'usine à biscuits suisses très connue. Ce n'était pas une visite style 'Maison Cailler' comme on croyait, c'était un mini musée/présentation + possibilité de goûter à toutes leur sortes de biscuits ! Mes pref ? Les CAPRICES !!!
5. Berne - la capitale de la Suisse, vous serez peut-être surpris ;) On dit coucou aux ours, on escalade difficilement la copine pour avoir une belle vue d'ensemble sur la ville et on essaie quelques restaurants, visite quelques boutiques.
6. Gorges de l'arreuse - un de mes moments forts du voyage ! Le début et la fin du parcours sont phénoménales. On a marché 3h30 !... On suivait le courant de l'eau, se sentant tout petits entre d'énormes rocailles. Les petits ponts âgés sont très photogéniques.
7. Neuchâtel - une ville plus jeune, qui bouge ! Le bord de l'eau appelle aux embarcations nautiques (voile, pédalo...) et les restaurants tout près sont animés dès l'apéro. La vue près du château est très jolie. En redescendant par les ruelles un peu abruptes, de magnifiques photos sont possibles.
8. Mine de sel de Bex - attraction populaire. En petit train on découvre des kilomètres de galeries creusées ; attention claustrophobie ! C'est vraiment impressionnant et instructif. On dirait un peu Gringotts la banque des sorciers ou encore un nid de fourmis ! ;)
9. Genève - j'y étais pour le salon du livre édition 2018. Tout s'est bien déroulé :) Questions sur scène et rencontre avec plusieurs Duludettes qui m'ont emmené beaucoup trop de cadeaux !! hehe
10. Fête de la tulipe à Morges - je conseille fortement ! Il devait y avoir 1939394 variétés. Fou ! Animé, familial, il y avait même la fête de la Tunisie en chansons.

I got inspired by the speech of Rick Steves at TEDxRainier to produce this video and put together his key thoughts.

Before I start vlogging realtime, I wanted to tell you WHY I started vlogging. This video is the story of what lead me to that decision. It is from the time when I stayed a few weeks in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico during the rainy season for a little rest and rejuvenation and it was an amazing time during my journey. The time spent off the bike has been just as important for the journey as the time spent on the bike.

Hi friends! Sooooo, I booked a last minute trip to Porto ♡ because if I didn't do it then, I wouldn't have done it for another long while! I must say, it was one of the most wonderful things I've done. I'm still feeling the glow and the butterflies from it. I've been meaning to do this a couple of years ago (2020) but God really said not yet ????
This second part captures my second day in Porto. With a bit more sleep and a great breakfast, I went for free walk tour around this beautiful city. Who said that travelling solo has to be lonely? I highly recommend going for walking tours to get a feel of the city from a local point of view. And it's free! (tips are very much welcome in the end though!)
My mantra for today was to be open, random and supportive. I prayed for guidance and grace. God gives it when you truly ask for it! ♡
An open itinerary worked really well for me as it left space and time for wonderful things to take place. I'm so grateful for the people I've met and connected with.
