9 Where to watch the Formula 1 Hairpin Turn? The Fairmont Monte Carlo Monaco is a destination full of surprises and for me was my country #97. It is only eight miles to Italy and seven minutes by helicopter to Nice. This country is half the size of New York City's Central Park and is focused on sustainability. During my first visit, I saw the first organic gardens in 300 years, the Formula E race with electric cars and enjoyed fine dining and stunning hotels.

Monaco GP F1 VIP suite at Fairmont Monte Carlo
The Fairmont Monte Carlo ( sits right on the coastline, overlooking the Mediterranean. It also over looks the famous hairpin turn of the Monaco Grand Prix and is one of the best places to stay in the city. I had a chance to watch the race from a private VIP suite at the hotel, filled with champagne and great food. Here's a view.

F1 Monaco Grand Prix post race rooftop party at Fairmont Monte Carlo
Not only is the Fairmont Monte Carlo ( the best place to watch the legendary Monaco Grand Prix, it's also the best place to party after the race.
Here's a brief look at the hotel's post-race party, held at the rooftop pool deck. On the left are the bleachers where guests can watch the race in front of them, to the right is the Mediterranean, filled with yachts.

Monaco - Walking The Monte Carlo F1 Grand Prix Circuit
A sunny day in Monte Carlo, Monaco and we’re walking the famous Formula One circuit.
Starting from turn 1 Sainte Devote and up the hill through turns 2 and 3 into the Monaco’s Casino Square and past the Hotel de Paris. Down the hill to Mirabeau, the Fairmont Hairpin and Portier.
Travelling through the tunnel and past the Yacht Club de Monaco into the chicane. Left at turn 12 Tabac and into the Swimming Pool complex before La Rascasse. Finally it ’s the Antony Noghes turn and back on to the start finish straight. Antony Noghes organised the first Monaco Grand Prix in 1929.
The Monte Carlo circuit is the shortest on the F1 calendar at just over two miles but is still seen to be one of the most important and prestigious races in the world.
