Sedona, AZ seems to be the destination we try new things. This was the first time we took the new rig (Grand Ginger – our Grand Design 312BHTS Travel Trailer) onto the dirt roads to dry camped on BLM land. The first mistake we made was taking a fire road off of a fire road. We’ll leave those roads for the truck campers and class B’s and stick to the main fire road next time! The next mistake we made was not arriving with plenty of water and turns out our 2 6v batteries were not suitable for the amount of power we needed during this trip.
Maybe you’ve had a similar trip where things don’t seem to come together. In this video, we offer some tips and ideas to help your trip back on track.

In this video, we take you on a tour of the Rancho Sedona RV Park in Sedona, AZ.
We had heard that there were way too many rules, but we found that not to be true. If you are looking for a party spot, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a beautiful, serene, well kept camping area, the Rancho Sedona RV Park fits the bill to a tee!
I would like to see them update their technology so you can book a spot online. They don't make that part easy. You have to actually call them...on the phone...and talk to someone...how 1970's! :) The other way, if you live outside of the US is to fill out a form.
C'mon Rancho Sedona, time to let technology into your lives!

We originally hit the road with RV boondocking in mind. In the past two years as full time RVers, Jenni and I have only stayed in a single private RV park. Boondocking is a way of life for us and its upsides far outweigh the downsides...for us!
However, there are many downsides that may make RV boondocking unenjoyable or even a downright pain in the neck for some people! Of course, you won't have water or electrical hookup and the nearest dump station will be 20 miles away, but there are many other downsides you may not have thought of.
We share all the downsides of RV boondocking in the National Forests as we travel from our campsite in Sedona, Arizona to a new camping spot in Camp Verde, Arizona!

NEW RV! GRAND DESIGN REFLECTION 312BHTS | EP 90
After almost two years of full-time RV living, we finally got a new rig. This is a 2018 Grand Design Reflection 312BHTS. It’s a 37’ bunkhouse model with three slides, kitchen island and far more space! The name of the new rig is “Grand Ginger”, but we’ll still call her Ginger for short.

FLY FISHING THE COLORADO RIVER | LEES FERRY (EP 101)
We learned the expensive way... wait for a need until you buy. Here are all our favorite RV products ✅

The #1 question we get is “what is your favorite place” and our answer is always the same. It’s impossible to compare the beauty of two extremes. Lees Ferry is an extreme. This destination is a site in Marble Canyon on the Colorado River separating Arizona from Utah. It will feel like you’re at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and in a way you are. To make this destination even more magical, it’s directly below the Glen Canyon damn that is breathtaking in its accomplishment.
Horse Shoe Bend is a highly visited destination near Page, AZ. It was our first destination of SN1. Now two years later, we are at the same place, but 1,400 feet below on the water. Temperatures at Lees Ferry can reach well over 100 degrees, but the water temperate doesn’t change from 48 degrees. Fly Fishing at Lees Ferry is one of the few places in the world you can get hyperthermia from the waist down and heat stroke from the waist up!
Big thanks to Lees Ferry Anglers for the opportunity to fish with them and record a special day. Thanks to Captain Jimmy for showing us a great time and putting so many fish in the boat.

The long awaited border crossing has arrived. We crossed the board on New Years Day and make our way to San Carlos Mexico where we stayed at Totonaka RV park. Then we made our way to a Pemex station near Los Mochis before arriving in Mazatlan on the third day. Already the drive down has been fun and entertaining.

THE ROAD TO COLORADO (WINTER RV CAMPING) EP 88 Part 1
The drive to Colorado from Utah is breathtaking. Winding roads through snow covered mountains, endless tunnels with an occasional train passing along the river. The entire countryside is reminiscent of the us of the Wild West and gold mining.
In this episode, we setup at Tiger Run Resort in Breckenridge, CO and work in our cozy trailer while snow falls for over 20 hours. Then we head into town to take our first glace at the International Snow Sculpting Contest before visiting Nordic Ski Center for a full day of snow shoeing.

GOOD EATS: IN SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO (SPICY) EP 82
Bring your appetite Santa Fe because this town knows how to cook! We extended our stay due to all the things to do and see and still only scratched the surface. We ended up staying a Los Suenos RV Park to regroup from dry camping at the Balloon Fiesta. Trish didn’t do much grocery shopping because she knew Santa Fe was a foodie town. We hit a couple of the local favorites and a couple touristy places too, but the food was good everywhere we ate! Below are links to all the restaurants. Santa Fe is a charming town with lots of art, friendly people and dogs. When you’re RVing through the Southwest, it’s worth stopping!

ℹ️After spending the summer RVing Alaska, it’s finally time to head south. Wow, did the drive back seemed longer than the drive there! On our way to Alaska, we were filled with curiosity and each leg of the trip was part of the journey. From Mile “0” in Dawson Creek, Liard Hot Springs, crossing the border and arriving in Fairbanks to experience an 11pm sunset. The drive home, however, was just...long. We did decide to take the Cassiar Highway back so we could report if it’s worth it. In our opinion, it is better to take a different route home and the Cassiar Highway is easy driving due to the limited traffic, gorgeous views and wildlife. However, we pushed the envelope too much and ended getting a screw in our tire likely at Flying J looking for a place to dry camp. We ended up relocated to a Canadian Tire at 1am to make it easier to fix the next day.
