A Tourist's Guide to Port Vila, Vanuatu 2018
Part 3 of my South Pacific trip.
From the Solomon Islands, I fly into Vanuatu. After depositing my things in the Grand Hotel, I have a wander and see some of the main strip. The next day, I wander inland, then cross to the other side of the peninsular.

Things to do in Vanuatu (with Rob's mum) | Port Vila, Vanuatu
For Rob's mum's milestone birthday, we flew her to Port Vila, Vanuatu, a beautiful little island in the South Pacific. It was a great way for her to get some warmth in the height of winter where she lives in Australia. Our favourite thing to do (aside from all the relaxing we did at Tamanu on the Beach) was this Tamanu tour. Our first stop on the tour was the Reef Zoological, which is a sanctuary for some endangered turtles and other animals native to Vanuatu.

We are Nicole and Rob. Nicole was born in the Philippines and Rob in Australia, but through the magic of the internet we met each other more than a decade ago and eventually ended up getting married. We moved from Melbourne, Australia to Maastricht, the Netherlands two years ago, taking the leap across continents to see more of Europe. This was our last Island stop of the 2017 PnO Christmas Cruise.
We booked a tour with Unique Tours and Transfers and this showcases the places we visited which included the Blue Lagoon!

Vanuatu Jungle Zipline: Amazing Spectacular.... Its a must do in Port Vila
Six ziplines, two suspension bridges, 200 meter long zipline 80 meters above the canyon and finish across the secret waterfall!.......who needs a coffee to wake up?
Its about a One Hour Tour.
Adults 9500vt
Teens 5000vt
Kids 4000vt
Operates all weather.
Tours depart 10.45 AM and 2PM each day from The Summit Gardens car park.
Transfers from hotels are 1000 vatu or take the Mele Bay Express all day for 1000 vatu. It departs on the hour from 9am from the Anchor Inn. Buy your bus ticket from the driver.
Your Safety Is Our Priority
From the beginning to the end of the Ziplines 800 metres later, you remain continuously connected to the safety line. No unclipping at all. We call it a continuous belay and it means you are SAFE.
What's Involved?
The Vanuatu Jungle Zipline is adventure recreation. The Zipline course is accessed by stairs and are high cable traverse's using wire ropes, full body harnesses. Riders zip through the upper forest canopy and are challenged with confronting a fear of heights. The Jungle Zipline is designed for participants of average mobility and strength who are in reasonably good health.
What to bring? Suitable clothing to wear a harness and closed secure footware. Closed footwear is available on request.
If its raining, it does not matter! You can have fun on a Zipline in any weather.

This was our day in Port Vila, Vanuatu, which included a visit tour of a local village, Port Vila down town and the beautiful Cascade Waterfalls. The ship is the P&O Pacific Jewel. Music is by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

Arthur and I were heading out to Tara Beach on the buggys with Off Road Adventures in Vanuatu. On the way we got lost and went through some great juicy mud. This is what we looked like after that.

Port Villa in Vanuatu was one of my favorite ports. A van took groups of passengers around the island including a stop at a small village for a tribal dance presentation.
We visited a war memorial and visited the downtown shopping area. I left the van and walked up and down the main shopping street. Caught another van back to the cruise ship.
