2019 Hymer Aktiv Loft - Quick Video Walkthrough
This is a quick video walkthrough of the new 2019 Hymer Aktiv Loft edition.
The Aktiv Loft is the same size and is mostly identical to the Aktiv 2.0. The Loft Edition doesn’t have rooftop air conditioning or rooftop solar panels, but shares everything else.
2018 Erwin Hymer Sunlight V2 Van 2 5 month/8000 mile review & update
After 5 months and over 8000 miles here is a review of my 2018 Erwin Hymer Sunlight V2. Issue #1 is the Underhood Generator.
This is an update to my previous reviews of the Sunlight V2. We have actually turned our opinion around on the first impressions of this small Class B RV. We are finding it to be quite enjoyable and economical for an RV. Having made personal-choice changes have worked out for us.
The only ongoing issue I still have with the Sunlight V2 is the Underhood Generator (GU) is not functioning, and it probably never functioned since I took delivery of the RV. It did not become evident until we took a long trip to Colorado a month ago and the GU did not do it's job as advertised.
I made an appointment at Camping World, but they could not fix it. I called Erwin Hymer Corporate and they helped me diagnose over the phone and suggested a Roadtrek dealer for service. The RT dealer I spoke to used an independent generator shop for service (after looking at their website, I could see they dealt with Onans and industrial type generators, no mention of automotive-type GUs.
I called Erwin Hymer again, and they have a service facility at their headquarters in Kitchener, Ontario. So I now have an appointment with them in early September... I'm sure my problem will be resolved under warranty

HYMER AKTIV CAMPER VAN REVIEW AFTER 6 MONTHS OF VAN LIFE // This is a Hymer Aktiv 1.0 van review (a class b review) after van living in a class b camper van for the last 6 months. When I first purchased the 2018 Hymer Aktiv, a van conversion camper, I did a complete Hymer Aktiv walk through in my camper van tour video and followed it up with a campervan tour Q&A video. Since then, I’ve been living in a van full-time as a solo woman rver and enjoying the van life. Now that I’ve been living in the Hymer Aktiv 2018 campervan for 6 months, I’ve learned many things that I really enjoy about the Hymer and vanlife, like the volstart system, the cassette toilet, and the ecoktrek system; however there are some things that need improvement on the Hymer rv which is on the RAM Promaster chassis. Erwin Hymer could improve the wet bathrooms and the low ground clearance of the propane tank and UHG to make rv living full time better.
Van dwelling is becoming more and more popular and people are looking for small rvs and van conversion vehicles like the Promaster van. I decided to buy the Hymer Aktiv instead of doing my own van life conversion because it had most everything I wanted for RV living.

Hymer Aktiv - FUNCTIONAL SHOWER! (DIY Upgrade)
The Hymer Aktiv and some related EHGNA RAM Promaster Class B camper vans have a very small bathroom, with a residential style faucet with no real provision for a shower. After struggling with how to create a usable shower, I came up with the solution you will see in the video.
The parts I installed are:
Faucet:
Hand Shower:
If you use the faucet above, the supply lines may not be long enough. I used 3/8 Supply Line extensions from Home Depot, which are marked as discontinued. An alternate should be found easily, if you require them. You may not need extensions or longer lines, depending on the plumbing in your van and the faucet you use.
All in, this was about a $75 upgrade for me.

HYMER CARADO STUDIO - A Brief Walkthrough
The Hymer Carado Studio is built on the shorty Promaster chassis. It has a very comfortable layout for a solo traveler. The pop top sleeping loft adds extra quarters for the grandkids! But with the recent closing of Hymer/Roadtrek, this van may never be built again!

Hymer Aktiv Van Mods Meet-up // I Love Our Helpful Community - Our Hymer group from Facebook decided to meet-up in Quartzsite, AZ so we could specifically work on our Hymer Aktiv vans together. We had some safety repairs, like the inverter, but other cools things like installing a USB port in the back, a bug screen for the grey tank vent, replacing some bolts to shut the sliding door better, and so much more. Mostly we got to meet each other for the first time and do some van tours and see things like this cool bed lift, campervan conversions, camper van bed mods, van cabinet mods, and more.
We even got to meet Gordon at Edge Motorworks who installed E-Guards for some of us.

2018 Erwin Hymer V2 (Van Two) Class B Motorhome Real Owner Review
This is a learning curve for me, and all I'm doing is sharing how it's going on understanding ownership with the V2.
Excuse me if I repeat myself, I tried to make the edits quicker, I used snippets to put this together so I hope I didn't drift to drastically from subject to subject.
Currently we're in Colorado with the V2 and soon Ill have final review on this motorhome once I return home.

High-level ProMaster Head to Head: Hymer Aktiv vs Regency National-Traveler
This is a quick head to head of two ProMaster-based Class B RVs - the Hymer Aktiv, and the Regency National-Traveler.
Both of these are available in a 20 foot 11 inch form factor with a rear sofa bed. The Regency is available with the ultra high roof option.
This isn't an all-inclusive review, as my Aktiv 1.0 is the murphy bed version. The Aktiv 2.0 is available as a sofa bed like the Regency, which would make it a more direct comparison. There are other options that aren't addressed in this video, but this gives a basic view of some of the features and differences between the two.
