10 Minute Yoga Warm-up for Hikers

Hey y’all! My name is Miranda Peterson, RYT200 yoga teacher trained in Hatha yoga in India and founder/owner of Namaste in Nature.

Namaste in Nature offers award-winning yoga + hiking + meditation experiences near Asheville, NC. We choose trails and yoga sequences that are accessible to everyone including beginners. This yoga hiking experience is perfect for individuals, couples and groups; especially bachelorette parties, birthdays and girls weekend trips to Asheville, NC.

It’s important to warm up the muscles and relax the mind before embarking on an outdoor adventure so I came up with this short 10 minute sequence that especially targets hips, legs and shoulders. No mat needed. ;)

Dynamic Stretching For Runners

-14 dynamic stretches to be carried before any run.
-A very slow 5-10 minute jog should be done beforehand.
-Each stretch is held for 1-2 seconds and a duration of 20-25 meters.

Use these stretches wisely. If you can not perform then do not try as risk of injury is greater. Stay within your own limits as this is not a workout. It is only a warm up.
