This is an unusual flight I took in June 2019 to a very unusual airport in west Africa. Air Mauritania operate a 3x weekly service from Mauritania to Gran Canaria. It seems like a really strange routing until you realize who most the passengers are : European, Ukranian and Russian fishermen !!

Glimpses of Mauritania: An early morning drive from the heart of Nouakchott, the vibrant Capital of Mauritania, to Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport (IATA: NKC, ICAO: GQNO), the international airport of Nouakchott which is about located 25 kilometers from the city. 10 April 2021. The drive took place between 5-6 AM during which the city looks completely empty.

Mauritania Airlines Embraer 175 LR Business Class
Welcome to my trip report!
In this video, I'm sharing my experience boarding the Mauritania Airlines - Embraer 175 LR (Business Class) from Nouakchott to Conakry.
From the moment we arrived at Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport, everything was perfect. The flight attendants were polite and professional, and the food was delicious.
The Embraer 175 LR was amazing - the business class seats were extremely comfortable and the views were breathtaking.
Finally, as we arrivied in Conakry, the airport was swamped with people. But despite the crowd, everything went smoothly - thanks to the excellent planning and execution of Mauritania Airlines.
