Tortola by Land & Sea | Shore Excursion | NCL
Your launch awaits at the nearby marina to take you on an exciting cruise among the beautiful islands of this unique archipelago. Listen to the narration by your tour guide and view the southern shoreline of Tortola and the surrounding islands of Salt, Peter and Norman, made famous in legend as hideaways for pirates and buccaneers. Your journey takes you past uninhabited islands and the island of St. John preserved for posterity by Laurence Rockefeller as a nature reserve, before stopping in a secluded cove where a drink is served on board the boat.
On arrival at Sopher’s Hole, the first landing place by European settlers in these islands, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a stroll through the interesting boutiques and souvenirs shops before boarding open sided safari tour buses. The tour continues along the north shore of Tortola driving through small fishing villages before ascending to the ridge road, which twists its way along the ridge of the island offering spectacular views of Tortola and of the surrounding islands. Photo stops will be made before descending to Road Town and through the town to the ship.

It's time for our very first experience with Norwegian Cruise Line! After having our sailing aboard NCL Encore canceled four days prior to embarkation day due to delays in the Panama Canal, we've rebooked on NCL Escape out of Port Canaveral, Florida. We sailed from November 13-20, 2021 with stops in Tortola, St. Thomas, and Great Stirrup Cay... let's do this thing!

Norwegian ESCAPE Caribbean Cruise (Day 5 - Tortola, BVI)... Join us on our next exciting ADVENTURE, as we take an Eastern Caribbean Cruise, aboard the brand new Norwegian ESCAPE. Our 2nd port of call is Road Town, in Totola, British Virgin Islands. We check out what Road Town, Tortola has to offer, then we head back to the ship and and spend the afternoon riding the waterslides and swim in the main pool and family pool, then we get our nerve up and tackle the Ropes Course.

Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Escape - Caribbean Cruise - February 2023 - Days 5, 6, & 7
Day 5 - We arrived in the port of Road Town in Tortola, British Virgin Islands at 6 AM and departed at 12 PM; we stayed near the port and did some exploring since there wasn't much time. Dinner was spent at the Manhattan Room once again.
Day 6 - Our 2nd sea day. We enjoyed the warm weather on the sun deck for most of the day. In the evening, we caught a performance by The Choir of Man in the Escape Theater.
Day 7 - Great Stirrup Cay. Located in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay is Norwegian Cruise Line's private island (drink packages work on the island). This was our last stop on our cruise and our last day, so we enjoyed the beach and got slightly drunk! The island is only accessible by tender boats; there is no pier for ships to dock - NCL is supposedly looking into building a pier in the future.

Join us on Day 5 of our cruise on the Norwegian Encore! We will be going on an excursion purchased through the cruise line entitled Tortola by Land and Sea.

Today we arrive at Tortola British Virgen Isle on our 7-day cruise on the #norwegiancruiseline Escape. We are only in Tortola for a short time and decide on an excursion. We do the Tortola Beach break. They take us in a safari style vehicle through the mountains to the Cane Garden Beach. We sit and relax on some lounge chairs. The water was very rough and cold. I almost lost my phone in the water. The beach was very nice and not crowded for Jan. Back on board the ship by 1230pm.
We are Cat and Mouse Adventures. We love all things Disney and Travel related.

Escape to Jost Van Dyke (NCL Encore excursion at Tortola BVI)
Heading over to and coming back from Jost Van Dyke aboard the Rebel Yell. The NCL Encore docks at Tortola. Its about a 45 minute ride to Jost. Prettiest boat ride you can imagine! Jost is the home of the Soggy Dollar bar.
Norwegian Escape Cruise, June 17-24, 2017, Day 5: Tortola & Cagney's
This was a really fun day! Our family got to enjoy the magnificent Baths area of Virgin Gorda. After a ferry ride over from Tortola, we took a taxi to the Top of the Baths and headed down to the Devil's Bay side. We were early enough that much of our tour was able to see the Baths starting at the exit with very little waits!
After the Baths, we relaxed at the Poor Man's Bar and Grill before enjoying the beach at the Baths. We then headed back to the Top of the Baths to meet a taxi and ferry back to Tortola.
To celebrate our 20th anniversary, we enjoyed dining at Cagney's Steakhouse before heading out to see For The Record: The Brat Pack. To read the full cruise report, please visit

This was a smaller Island lots of mountain ⛰ around. We visit Cane Garden Bay they have the best rum punch, we had wifi and our own waitress for the day. We even got a free souvenir from the locals. So grateful to be able to experience this amazing little Island.????#NCL #tortola #Island #adventure
