Walking in Monaco, second-smallest sovereign state in the world, after Vatican City - 4K UHD

Hello there, Welcome to Monaco,
Join me this video and lets walk around the second-smallest sovereign state in the world, after Vatican City.

▶Wikipedia:
Monaco officially the Principality of Monaco (French: Principauté de Monaco; Ligurian: Prinçipatu de Múnegu), is a sovereign city-state and microstate on the French Riviera a few kilometres west of the Italian region of Liguria, in Western Europe, on the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered by France to the north, east and west. The principality is home to 38,682 residents,[11] of whom 9,486 are Monégasque nationals;[12] it is widely recognised as one of the most expensive and wealthiest places in the world.[13][14] The official language of the principality is French. In addition, Monégasque (a dialect of Ligurian), Italian and English are spoken and understood by many residents.[a]

With an area of 2.1 km2 (0.81 sq mi), it is the second-smallest sovereign state in the world, after Vatican City. Its 19,009 inhabitants /km2 (49,230/sq mi) make it the most densely-populated sovereign state in the world. Monaco has a land border of 5.47 km (3.40 mi) and the world's shortest coastline of approximately 3.83 km (2.38 mi);[15] it has a width that varies between 1,700 and 349 m (5,577 and 1,145 ft). The highest point in the state is a narrow pathway named Chemin des Révoires on the slopes of Mont Agel, in the Les Révoires ward, which is 161 m (528 ft) above sea level. The principality is about 15 km (9.3 mi) from the border with Italy.[16] Its most populous ward is Larvotto/Bas Moulins with a population of 5,443 as of 2008. Through land reclamation, Monaco's land mass has expanded by 20 percent. In 2005, it had an area of only 1.974 km2 (0.762 sq mi).

The principality is governed under a form of constitutional monarchy, with Prince Albert II as head of state, who wields immense political power despite his constitutional status. The Prime Minister, who is the head of government, can be either a Monégasque or a French citizen; the monarch consults with the Government of France before an appointment. Key members of the judiciary in Monaco are detached French magistrates.[17] The House of Grimaldi has ruled Monaco, with brief interruptions, since 1297.[18] The state's sovereignty was officially recognised by the Franco-Monégasque Treaty of 1861, with Monaco becoming a full United Nations voting member in 1993. Despite Monaco's independence and separate foreign policy, its defence is the responsibility of France. However, Monaco does maintain two small military units.

Economic development was spurred in the late 19th century with the opening of the state's first casino, the Monte Carlo Casino, as well as a railway connection to Paris.[19] Since then, Monaco's mild climate, scenery, and gambling facilities have contributed to the principality's status as a tourist destination and recreation centre for the rich. In more recent years, Monaco has become a major banking centre and has sought to diversify its economy into the services sector and small, high-value-added, non-polluting industries. Monaco is famous as a tax haven: the principality has no personal income tax and low business taxes. Over 30% of the residents are millionaires[clarification needed],[20] with real estate prices reaching €100,000 ($116,374) per square metre in 2018.

Monaco is not formally a part of the European Union (EU), but it participates in certain EU policies, including customs and border controls. Through its relationship with France, Monaco uses the euro as its sole currency; before, it used the Monegasque franc, which was pegged, and exchangeable with, the French franc until the 1st of January 2002. Monaco joined the Council of Europe in 2004 and is a member of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). It is also the host of the annual street circuit motor race, the Monaco Grand Prix, one of the original Grands Prix of Formula One. The local motorsports association gives name to the Monte Carlo Rally, hosted in January in the French Alps. The principality has a club football team, AS Monaco, which competes in the French Ligue 1 and have become French champions on multiple occasions. A centre of research into marine conservation, Monaco is home to one of the world's first protected marine habitats,[21] an Oceanographic Museum, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency Environment Labs, which is the only marine laboratory in the United Nations structure

Monaco, the Second Smallest Country in the World

Monaco is a sovereign city-state, located on the French Riviera in Western Europe. It is bordered by France on three sides; one side borders the Mediterranean Sea. It has an area of 2 square km, and a population of 36,000, making Monaco the second smallest (after the Vatican), and the most densely populated country in the world.

Monaco is a principality governed under a form of constitutional monarchy, with Prince Albert II as head of state. Even though Prince Albert II is a constitutional monarch, he still has immense political power. The House of Grimaldi have ruled Monaco, with brief interruptions, since 1297. The state's sovereignty was officially recognized by the Franco-Monegasque Treaty of 1861, with Monaco becoming a full United Nations voting member in 1993.

Economic development was spurred in the late 19th century with the opening of its first casino, Monte Carlo, and a railway connection to Paris. Since then, the principality's mild climate, splendid scenery, and gambling facilities have made Monaco world-famous as a tourist destination and recreation centre for the rich and famous. However, in more recent years Monaco has become a major banking center and has successfully sought to diversify its economy into the services and small, high-value-added, non-polluting industries. The state has no income tax, low business taxes, and is well known for being a tax haven.

The principality of Monaco offers a great balance of historical and modern attractions. There are various museums and palaces to visit as well as shopping malls and casinos. Monaco also offers relaxation spots along the harbor and even around the attractions. It is relatively easy to navigate Monte Carlo and Monaco if you take the time to learn where the various short cuts are. City maps are generally available at most news vendor stands and shops for a small fee.

One of the most interesting aspects of Monaco is its status as the second-smallest country in the world, after the Vatican City. Despite its size, Monaco is renowned for its incredible wealth and opulence. The principality is a global financial center, known for its high standard of living, luxurious lifestyle, and as a tax haven. Additionally, Monaco hosts the prestigious Formula 1 Grand Prix, attracting enthusiasts and elite visitors from around the world. The iconic Monte Carlo Casino, nestled in the heart of Monaco, is a symbol of the principality's glamour and extravagance. The fact that Monaco has no income tax for its residents is also a unique feature, contributing to its allure for the affluent. Overall, Monaco's combination of wealth, glamour, and unique governance make it a fascinating and distinct destination.

Our filmmaker, Agnius Narkevicius, spent two days capturing the essence of the Principality of Monaco. MONACO DAY TRIP | A Tour of Europe's SECOND SMALLEST Country! ????????

MONACO: Join me on the ultimate day trip to Monaco where I explore as much of the world’s second smallest country as I can. Visit the old town of Monaco-Ville, Port Hercules (harbour) & Monte Carlo. ???????? More videos from this trip →

Taking a spectacular day trip from Nice to the world’s second smallest country Monaco. I spent a fascinating day walking around the streets of Monaco City (Monaco-Ville), watching the changing of the guards at the Prince's Palace, feeling small against the superyachts and luxury boats in the harbour (Port Hercules), exploring much of the famous racing track used in the Monaco Grand Prix and admiring the sports cars parked up outside the Monte Carlo Casino.

After catching part of a local church service I headed up to the old quarter of Monaco and began exploring the small alleyways and extravagant churches and palaces. Overlooking the incredible harbour area and famous swimming pool, Monaco City offers some of the best views in the country! After watching the changing of the guards ceremony I headed through the harbour to the glitz and glamour of Monte Carlo.

Casino Square is a landmark plaza that looks like a parking lot for the rich and famous. Outside the casino were Bentleys, Ferraris and Jaguars all being watched by the doormen while the owners sipped on Martinis and gambled away a few thousand Euros inside - it had the feel of an expensive part of town and I wasn’t wrong. After accidentally walking back into France I started my search for Monaco’s most famous stretch of racing track - the Fairmont Hairpin.

Still sporting the red and white edges it did not disappoint. The Fairmont Hairpin has a reputation for being one of the most difficult corners on the Monaco circuit, incorporating a super tight bend with a change in elevation. It was cool to hang out there for a while and watch all the tourists try to navigate it - I could certainly see why the area is so popular even amongst non-racing fans like me.

I headed back up towards Old Monaco and the Royal Palace for some wonderful views before calling my day trip a success and heading back to the train station in order to catch a train back to Nice. I would have loved to stay the night but sadly my budget couldn’t quite cover it - maybe next time!

Monaco - One of the smallest country in the world

We boarded the train from Marseille Saint Charles Station to Monaco Monte Carlo.

It was a four hour train journey along the French Riviera with beautiful views of the coast line.

On exiting the station was the beautiful Église de Sainte-Dévote, a renowned 11th-century Catholic chapel dedicated to Saint Devota, the patron saint of Monaco.

Monaco has more police personnel per capita than most other countries in the world.

We walked to Mc Donald's, located at Héréditaire Albert Centre Commercial de Fontvielle, for lunch.

Our next stop was the Prince's Palace.

Built in 1191, the Palace is now the official residence of the sovereign prince of Monaco.

From here, we got some really amazing views of the the principality of Monaco.

Monaco is the 2nd smallest and richest country in the world.

This is the statue of the great Argentinian car driver Juan Manuel Fangio Statue, a five-time Formula One world champion.

We walked by some of the most expensive yachts at the marina. Monaco has the largest in-water display of Yachts in europe.

The Monaco Yacht show is held every year where more than 125 yachts are exibited.

The Fairmont Hairpin curve Formula 1 race circuit was stunning.

We could only imagine the atmosphere during a race with roar of the engines and cheers from the crowds.

We then headed to the famous Monte Carlo Casino where 3 James Bond movies have been filmed.

It is said that the citizens of Monaco are not allowed to enter the Monte Carlo Casino.

Another country and a new city visited.

We headed to Beaulieu-sur-Mer, a small village in the French Riviera.

Visited 26th country- Monaco ????????

I am sure you will enjoy watching this fun vlog❣️

Monaco, Which is is the second smallest country in the world and county of millionaires!!
Monaco has the highest density of millionaires in Europe and which has the largest display of in-water yachts in europe!!

I’ve explored 27 countries on my own!! But why I always choose to travel solo?? The most common question have been ask from you all???? because I have discovered that I am always, without fail, more myself when I am travelling solo. If I had someone with me, watching, I probably would never ‘let myself go’ as freely as when there are no witnesses ????

A Day Trip 2 Monaco |EP-12| How 2 Visit The 2nd Smallest Country?

A Day Trip 2 Monaco. How 2 Visit The 2nd Smallest Country in the world

While my stay in Nice I have a day tour to Monaco which is the 2nd smallest country in the world. So, in this vlog, I will share my experience to visit this microstate from Nice.
Monaco is a pretty small country, and you can easily visit it on a day trip, It’s a beautiful independent microstate known for famous attractions such as Monte Carlo. It has beautiful residential as well as commercial areas. Monaco is the second-smallest nation in the world which has an area of 2.02 square kilometers (0.78 square miles) only. This small area makes it one of the most densely packed countries in the world.

• How to get to Monaco from Nice?
Monaco is about a 30 minutes bus/train ride from Nice. The cheaper option is to take a bus to Monaco. Bus no 100 takes you from Nice to Monaco in an hour for just 1.50 euros. Bus leaves from Nice le Port to Monaco Place Des Moulins every 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, you can get an SNCF train that takes about 20 minutes from Nice to Monaco and costs about 4 euros. It leaves every half an hour and takes you through the stunning riviera. I also opted for this option.

• How to get around?
The major part of Monte Carlo city is pretty walkable, although it is quite hilly. However, you can take local city buses which cost 2 euros per ride for 30-minute validity.

• How to Visit the 2nd Smallest Country in World?
On my day tour to Monaco, I wander into the town of Monte Carlo from one end to the other. The main tourist attractions that I visited on my day tour were
• Monte Carlo Town
• Monte Carlo Casino
• Tourist office Monaco
• Le Rocher (The Rock of Monaco)
• Prince’s Palace
• Monaco Harbour
• Marie office to get stamped my passport by Monaco Stamp

Furthermore, there were several places that we missed on our day tour. These also include
• The Exotic Garden
• Museum Oceanography
• Saint Martin Garden
• Saint Nicholas Cathedral
