WHO ARE THE SADHUS?
Sadhus are Hindu Holy men and women who give up their home and possessions to live a spiritual life of meditation and prayer. On the banks of the Ganges River...Some sadhus are perpetually on pilgrimages to sacred sites, walking through the country alone or in small groups. Others stay in one place, isolated in small huts or caves, and travel only for specific religious festivals such as the Kumbha Mela. This Sadhu lives in a cave in the Himalaya close to the source of the sacred Ganges river. He told us: In Ganga River, Hindu people keep many many mysteries, many messages if you have inner power to receive it... then you can receive the messages from the water...

Bryony Gordon -- 5 Life Lessons I Learned in my 20s

Bryony Gordon survived her adolescence by dreaming about the life she'd have in her twenties: the perfect job; the lovely flat; the amazing boyfriend. The reality was something of a shock. Her Telegraph column was a diary of her daily screw-ups; she lived in a series of squalid shoe boxes; and her most meaningful relationship of the entire decade was with a Marlboro Light.

In THE WRONG KNICKERS Bryony busts open the glamorized myth of what it means to be a young (perpetually) single girl about London town, and shares the horrible and hilarious truth. The truth about picking up a colleague at the STI clinic; sinking into debt to fund a varied diet of wine, crisps and vodka; and how it feels when your dream man turns out to be a one night stand who hands you someone else's knickers in the morning.

She recently was the guest author at the Hidden Prologues literary, salon where authors read from their own work and from another book that inspired them, before joining a discussion about the issues that emerge.

Hosted by the writer and journalist Sam Leith, the salon gives leading authors the chance to explore the 'Hidden Prologues' to their latest books.

Ahead of the event, Bryony revealed the 5 key life lessons she learned in her 20s:

1- Just say no
2- Neither Father time or your real father will pay your council tax
3- Your coupled-up friends will lead their lives through you
4- You will be 'hot' but won't realise it.
5- Everything will turn out alright in the end

Celebrating Grandpa's Life from 1 to 100 Years Old

Grandpa had a huge influence on shaping my own and many other lives. He was Grandpa to so many people, and I'd like to share this video with snapshots celebrating the many things he did over the past 100 years. From his obituary:

MARSEILLES — William Baker Scifers, 100, a resident of Marseilles for more than 50 years, passed away peacefully on July 3.

Known to friends and family alike as Grandpa, William was born June 9, 1915, to the late Ethel M. Baker-Scifers and Joseph Matthew Scifers, of Denver.

On July 11, 1942, he married the late Edna Van Buren and was the loving father of two children, William Van Buren Scifers, of Sydney, Australia, and John Harry (Carol) Scifers, of Grand Ridge; adoring grandfather of six grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, John W. Scifers, of Grayslake, Brian (Danielle) Scifers, of Naperville, Daniel (Kandi) Scifers, of Marseilles, Adam Scifers, of Newcastle, Australia, Rebecca Scifers, of New York City, James (Laura) White, of Marseilles, and Jessica (Jerry) Cotter, of Watseka; and fond great-grandfather of 15 great-grandchildren.

An alumnus of the University of Wyoming, over the course of his lifetime, William lived in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Washington and Illinois. He was a National Guard member, ranch hand, engineer, real estate broker, business owner and farmer.

William was a Master Mason and member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Embracing an active lifestyle his entire life, he rode motorcycles into his 80s and drove cars into his 90s, and lived out his life on the family farm, where he enjoyed caring for a variety of dogs and other animals, surfing the Internet, riding his golf cart around a 10-acre homestead and raising his children as well as many of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

William recently celebrated his 100th birthday with friends and family from across the country and abroad.
