MAURITIUS - Island Paradise Trip March and November 2008
This was my first and second travel to the island paradise of Mauritius. The first was on March, and the second was in November of the same year 2008.
I visited Marie Reine de la Paix by chance. It's an open church with a huge monument of Mother Mary on the hillside of Signal Mountain. I attended mass in Creole, the local language. Then I went further uphill to see the sunset.
On both occasions, I stayed in the Le Suffren Hotel & Marina. It's within walking distance from the central business district. The hotel is also within easy reach of various tourist sites in Mauritius. The hotel's 102 bedrooms offer excellent comfort. The view from the hotel is breathtaking especially the marina side. Amenities are good. The food is also very good. It's a highly recommendable hotel.
Le Suffren is also adjacent to the Le Caudan Waterfront. You can reach there using the free water taxi provided by the hotel. This modern waterfront is actually a shopping area and an entertainment complex. You'll find an array of shops and restaurants and movie theatres, a museum craft market with live street entertainment.
