The Bollenstreek is an area under Amsterdam in the Netherlands (2024). The main towns of the Bollenstreek are Lisse, Hillegom and Noordwijk. The Bollenstreek is famous for the amazing Dutch Tulip Fields between March and May. These 'flower fields' are also known as the Garden of Europe. All the different types of flowers and in particular the tulips are shown in the Flower Park of Keukenhof. Keukenhof Park is located in the city of Lisse. The footage in this video is taken in Noordwijk and Lisse near Keukenhof but not in the official park.

Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world's largest flower gardens, situated in the municipality of Lisse, in the Netherlands. Keukenhof is widely known for its tulips, and it also features numerous other flowers, including hyacinths, daffodils, lilies, roses, carnations and irises.

Keukenhof garden is located around 40 kilometer southwest of Amsterdam.
How to get to the Keukenhof Garden from Amsterdam:
Garden can be reached by public transport buses which runs specially during Garden Opening season. There is no train station in Keukenhof garden.
If you have Amsterdam GVB day Ticket, then you can catch bus# 369 from Amsterdam sloterdijk station to Schiphol airport, from Schiphol Airport, Keukenhof garden can be reached by taking Keukenhof express bus# 858.
If you have Amsterdam and Region Travel Ticket pass, then journey to the garden is covered in the pass, you can reach Schiphol airport from Amsterdam by any means,
than change to Keukenhof express bus# 858 to the Garden
Keukenhof Garden Opening 2023:
Keukenhof Garden opens in spring season for only 2 months. In 2023, Keukenhof garden will open from 23rd March till 14th May.

The best way to see The Dutch tulip flower fields between the Keukenhof and Amsterdam is to rent a scooter and explore the countryside. Let me show you where to see the best tulips in (South) Holland! It's tulip season in Amsterdam and the rest of the country, of course, usually from mid-April to the beginning of May. I suggest planning your visit for the second half of April.
You'll want to visit a show garden made for taking photos so you don't accidentally ruin a farmer's hard work by walking through production fields (unless you have permission, NEVER go through a flower field). To pick your own tulips (highly recommended!) visit a Pluktuin or picking garden in English.
If you need to take public transportation to rent your scooter, use 9292.nl to plan your route. It's the local app.

At Keukenhof 7 million bulbs are planted by hand in just three months. Gardeners work year round, and the flowers bloom for only 8 weeks. Last year due to the pandemic they were unable to open for the first time in 71 years, and this year is not looking much better. We visited Keukenhof to see how they’re holding up during their second year in a pandemic.

Keukenhof Gardens Travel Guide - Day Trip from Amsterdam
This video takes you through the incredible Keukenhof Gardens located near Lisse. The gardens are a 22 minute ride by car from Leiden or a 34 minute ride from Amsterdam. This is a great day trip that is not to be missed.
Tickets run 18.50 euros or about $10.30 USD.
Best time to visit the gardens is late March into early May. with over 7 million bulbs I'm sure you can find several that you fall in love with. There is also a cafe/restaurant at the Gardens you can grab a bite to eat. Our suggestion is to bring a little picnic with you so you can enjoy all of the tulips around you- and by the way this Park not only has tulips but a wide variety of stunning flowers.

Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam, Netherland experience, Keukenhof Garden, Tulip Garden Netherlands, Keukenhof Garden 2019, Netherlands. Keukenhof, also famously known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world's largest tulip flower gardens, situated in Lisse, South Holland, Netherlands. Every year approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted, which covers 32 hectares of land.
Keukenhof Park remains open for two months in the Spring season between the end of March to end of May. The entry to the park is with tickets and can be purchased online or at the park. To avoid queuing it is advisable to buy tickets online for a quick entry. The park is an easy day-trip destination from Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport, and most cities in Holland. It is popular with visitors of all age groups – from families with small children to elderly people or young couples.
There are various playgrounds for small children to enjoy, while a full-scale windmill, public art and performances, as well as special displays add further entertainment to visitors of all ages.
To skip the lines it's advisable to buy tickets online from Tiqets or GetYourGuide – mobile phone or email printed tickets accepted to go directly to the entrance gate. Mobile tickets may even be bought for immediate use if the queues are long.

The best and fastest option to travel from Schiphol to Keukenhof is with the Keukenhof Express. Keukenhof (Kitchen Garden in Dutch), is a sprawling park of more than 32 hectares with immense tulip gardens, located between the towns of Lisse and Hillegom, in the Netherlands. Also known as the garden of Europe, it is one of the most beautiful places in the country. It has an impressive collection of flowers and hybrids of different species, greenhouses (where flowers, bulbs and seeds are sold), old mills, lakes, fountains and large walks. The whole complex has a beautiful artistic treatment, so flowers and lakes become the basis of its immense avenues.
History
The grounds of the park were within the possessions of the noblewoman Jacoba of Bavaria and it is said that it was she herself who named it, in one of her regular walks through the area, with that name when identifying the fragrance of the herbs and spices with the cuisine of her palace. It is recommended to visit Keukenhof during the middle fifteen days of May, which is when the tulip fields are in bloom. The park is open eight weeks a year, between mid-March and the end of May. Entrance to the park requires payment. There are stations in the towns of Haarlem and Leiden that have tourist buses to get there.

If you are in the market for tulips, the best place to buy them - or just to see them - is the tulip fields of Keukenhof in Holland. These huge gardens are the largest and most spectacular flower gardens in the world - from March to May every year they are a sea of multicolored tulips stretching over the flat Dutch landscape as far as the eye can see.
Today, more then a million people visit Keukenhof each year to marvel at the spectacle of endless fields of tulips - making it the most popular tourist attraction in Holland, and one of the most photographed sights in Europe. Keukenhof has almost become a sort of horticultural theme park, with restaurants, shops, exhibitions and a children's play area.
The outdoor tulip collections also feature different designs and landscaping ideas ranging from traditional to innovative. There are several large indoor pavilions where you can while away the day in case of inclement weather. Keukenhof is still primarily a showplace for commercial bulb growers, and though you are not obliged to buy anything, you will find many opportunities to spend your money. Over 90 different bulb growers offer their expertise - and their merchandise - at Keukenhof.
The bulb fields at Keukenhof are situated in the town of Lisse, the heart of Holland's bulb growing country, easily reachable from Amsterdam in about 1 hour by a bus tour. The park is open from mid March until mid May every year. The bulbs usually flower sometime around late April or early May, making this the best time to visit. In 2012 the Keukenhof is opened from the 22th of march till the 20th of may.
