Kakum National Park Canopy Walk - Day Trip From Cape Coast - Ghana - Africa
I was so looking forward to this day, finally a day trip again! So we left late afternoon, stopped first at the Stingless Be Center nearby before we finally got to the Kakum National Park with its famous Canopy Walk.
At first, I must admit, I was a bit underwhelmed, but the further we got into the jungle the prettier and adventurous it got. So the overall verdict was ... LOVED IT! One advise I would like to give, stay over night! We didn't see any animals but to see those you even need to get further away from the park entrance. They even have elephants!

Welcome to Ghana’s most visited attraction, the Kakum National Park. Tucked away in the Assin Attandanso Reserve is the Kakum National Park and Canopy Walkway that offers visitors spectacular scenery and a fascinating wildlife experience along with modern camping facilities. The park’s best-known feature is undoubtedly its 7 suspension bridges which form a 333-meter long canopy walkway, suspended up to 27 meters above the forest floor from trees that are over 300 years old.
From pictures we’ve seen online, we didn’t realize there were actually 7 of these bridges that we had to concur. Lol

ABOUT KAKUM NATIONAL PARK
The uniqueness of this park lies in the fact that it was established at the initiative of the local people and not by the State Department of wildlife who are responsible for wildlife preservation in Ghana. It is one of only 3 locations in Africa with a canopy walkway, which is 350 metres (1,150 ft) long and connects seven tree tops which provides access to the forest.
