This thing showed up on a couple of pallets and the company was awesome at helping me get it setup. It was super Easy to install . Blueridge mini split ceiling cassette in operation installed by the home owner. It was pretty easy to install. Needed an hvac person to evac the lines but other than that it was easy.ask questions in the comments

Putting A Mini Split Inside A BUS!
Here we finally have the complete Mini Split installation. With the indoor and outdoor unit install and connected we were able to enjoy this sweet little victory. We made sure that we did our homework before purchasing this unit. It will have enough power to properly cool and heat the entire bus!

Installing a Pioneer Mini-split A/C on our Skoolie! | A/C PART I
Just in time for summer: we installed a Pioneer mini-split A/C unit on our Skoolie! Putting an A/C on a rolling vehicle presented some unique challenges that probably wouldn't happen on a home installation. Mike had to figure out a way to pass all the tubes and wiring through the outer skin of the bus and make it all completely water-tight. He had to use brass fittings to make right angles in tight areas that would have kinked the copper tubing. And of course, we also had to build the entire upper front section of the bus to install the interior part of the air conditioning unit.

This video will give you an overview of what it takes to install the entire system from start to finish. Dave helped me get the outdoor condenser mounted to the side of the house. Steve flew in to Florida from Idaho for vacation, and was a huge help in getting the entire system up and running! Thank you guys for all the help!!!!

Q - Did you have a service technician evacuate your mini split system before filling it with refrigerant?
A – In the video, I mentioned that I chose not to spend the extra $300 (I checked around first). I understand that it may not be 'best practice', but I did install the system in a dry climate. Also, anyone who has filled or topped off their refrigerant in their vehicle would know that the hose between the fill valve and the can of refrigerant is also filled with atmospheric contaminants. Nevertheless, it is also considered 'best practice' for the automotive refrigerant industry to allow small amounts of contaminants in their products. For these reasons, I chose to forego the expense. However, in the video, I did advise others to make up their own minds on this point. I hope this helps.
Q - Can the dehumidified water be used as potable water/drinking water?
A – Yes, if it is filtered properly (carbon filter, reverse osmosis, UV sterilization). Check this out: NUBE: Air to Water Generator

In our quest for seeking out a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle, we made a plan that includes zero waste living, tiny home living and full-time travel. We considered buying an RV, looked at trailers and airstreams but settled on doing a bus conversion for our off the grid, tiny house on wheels. We bought a 1996 MCI 102 D3 coach bus and with the Bus Demolition and Interior Shell complete, now we turn it into our Tiny Home on Wheels!

In its previous life, our MCI bus was used as a school bus, although we don't think we can legitimately call it a skoolie. We are confident that converting our bus into a class a motor home will have challenges, but doing a massive overhaul and remodel on a motorhome / RV remodel didn’t seem to align with the off grid bus life we were aiming for.
In Season 4 we share the interior build as we turn it into our home.
