We stayed a night at The Lakehouse, enjoying the respites from the harried city life, feeling like we had teleported into the English countryside.
The hotel opened to guests in 1970. We are attracted by the raved reviews on the internet and decided to stay here for a night.

The Lakehouse ini terletak di Ringlet, Cameron Highland. Satu keunikan hotel yang ada di Cameron Highlands. Konsep vintage Bristish nyata terselah didekorasikan pada hotel ini.
The Lakehouse ini telah dibina sejak 1966 oleh Kolonel British yang telah bersara iaitu Stanley J. Foster yang pada mulanya digunakan sebagai kediaman beliau. Ianya mengambil masa selama 4 tahun untuk disiapkan.
Kolonel Foster tinggal di Fosters Suite yang sekarang diberi nama sebagai The Hilltop house yang merupakan kediaman peribadi beliau pada ketika itu yang terletak paling atas sekali.
Hari ini, The Lakehouse masih mengekalkan daya tarikan kolonialnya sebagai sebuah permata di puncak Cameron Highlands

Built by William J. Warin in 1939, the mock Tudor-styled hotel is renowned for celebrating everything British.
The inn is modelled on its namesake, the Smokehouse in Beck Row, Mildenhall, England, the United Kingdom. The interior is reminiscent of a typical English country house with open fireplaces and wood-panelled walls. Outside, the landscape would pass for an authentic English garden.
The landmark overlooks the Sultan Ahmad Shah golf course on the Tanah Rata-Bringchang road junction. It is still a popular place for visitors to gather for their afternoon tea and scones.
