Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa Tour with Overwater Bungalow
Walkthrough tour of the Hilton Mo'orea Lagoon Resort and Spa including a full tour of a Premium Panoramic Overwater Bungalow. Why you should stay here versus other Overwater Bungalow resorts on Moorea.
There are a total of five Over Water Bungalow Resorts in Mo’orea.
--Intercontinental Mo’orea Resort and Spa- Shutdown due to COVID.
--Club Bali Hai or Aimeo Lodge- I wouldn’t call these overwater bungalows and they are more of a vacation rental than hotel.
--Hotel Manava Beach Resort and Spa- True overwater bungalows, but not located on that turquoise blue water. The rooms are decent but not luxury status by any means.
--Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort- This I would rate as close second to the Hilton but has two drawbacks. First, is that the location is not the best for sunsets and it faces where the ferry comes into the port, so you see more boat traffic. Second is that its beach connects to the local public beach.
--Hilton Mo'orea Lagoon Resort and Spa- Clear winner because 1) best turquoise water, 2) best sunsets, 3) most luxurious and private.

Overwater bungalow tour at Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort, French Polynesia
The Hilton Moorea offers a few different types of rooms on property: Garden rooms with pools, partial overwater bungalows facing out to the lagoon and overwater villas. They do also have a garden view room, but it seems to be primarily used as transit rooms. The garden rooms with pools will be the most private, but will not offer any exterior views. Many people split their stay between garden rooms with pools and then overwater bungalows. If you go this route, be sure to book the overwater for the second half of your trip :).
We were in an overwater bungalow with direct access to the beautiful lagoon. The room sits at about 650 square feet and features a king bed, sitting area, mini bar, large bathroom with a separate tub and an outdoor patio with a swim platform. The only truly private overwater bungalow will be the end caps, or Panoramic View bungalows.
The room is certainly dated, with large, heavy furniture inside that’s actually supposed to be outdoor furniture, and the outdoor furniture no longer has cushions, making it uncomfortable to lounge on for longer periods of time. While they did paint the furniture inside grey to “modernize” it, it was a bit like putting lipstick on a pig to be honest.

OVERWATER BUNGALOW TOUR: Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort in 4K (ULTRA HD)
Our 4K video tour of the Luxury Overwater Bungalow that we stayed in at the Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort. An amazing, albeit different experience from what we had at the Hilton in Bora Bora. Our room was fantastic: a great view of Tahiti, not too far of a walk, and also perfectly situated for great snorkeling right off the deck. We were in room 108.

Video Review of the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa in French Polynesia.
Today I’m reviewing the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa. We wanted to go to Bora Bora but the Hilton there was under construction and they weren’t taking reservations. However, I’ve been on many tropical vacations and this was by far the best one.
Beach- The beach was beautiful and there was hardly any seaweed but it was pretty small. If you like to take long walks on the beach like I do, this is definitely NOT the place to do it. My husband and I walked around on the overwater bungalow walkways as a substitute.However, If you’re staying in an overwater bungalow, you don’t really need the beach because of your own private dock. 3.5 stars
Pool- The pool looked amazing from the photos online- but once we arrived there was caution tape around it and was out of service for our entire trip. It was very disappointing. We weren’t going to use it anyway, but if it was in service it would have been very nice. I contacted Hilton about it and they compensated us for what we missed out on. 3 stars
Grounds- The grounds were well kept. The overwater bungalow walkways were beautiful to walk on. No complaints. 5 stars
Room- The room was incredible and the view was amazing. We had our own private dock to snorkel and swim off of. There was a glass floor window where we could see the fish below. The room was clean and modern. Prior to our stay we looked at the resort map and saw that over bungalow no. 87 was the most private. We called ahead 6 months in advance to reserve it It had a 180 degree view of the ocean so we were glad we did that. Hands down. 5 stars
Food- As far as food goes, pretty good, but on this vacation, it was not my focus. The options available were to eat at the resort or to visit the various nearby restaurants which had free shuttles as transportation. My husband and I went to a restaurant called Rudy’s where we had the highly recommended crab stuffed parrot fish. It was so good that we went back twice. We also ate at the crepe restaurant which was located on the walkways of the overwater bungalows. It’s pretty cool because you can watch the sharks swim by while you eat. 4.5 stars
Staff- All of the staff were very friendly and everyone said hello to you when you walked by. Dinah from guest services hooked us up with room #87 and was very helpful prior to the trip. 5 stars
Nightlife- We never experienced any of the nightlife, since it was honeymoon trip. once or twice a week they had fire dancers perform at the resort which ended at 10pm at the latest. I would rate it 5 stars because it was good enough for a relaxing honeymoon vacation.
Activities- One of the activities that I loved was snorkeling (apparently it’s the best in the world). It was SO amazing and we saw different colorful fish every dive. The hotel provides you with snorkeling gear so you don’t have to bring your own. I found some Kate Spade sunglasses while snorkeling, so if you’re missing some, let me know. There was also paddleboarding and kayaking available. We took the paddleboards out in the morning to watch the sun rise. That was incredible. 5 stars
Excursions- There were a few different excursions available. My husband and I decided to try the four wheeler pineapple tour. It was cool, fun, but a little long. We also went on the helicopter tour which I highly recommend. The jet-skis were a lot of fun we had a blast. 4.5 stars.
Before I finish, I just want to mention that we went in early May and that’s usually when the island is coming out of summer season. In the summer it is usually very rainy and we didn’t have great weather. So if you’re looking for good weather, go between late May and late September. The weather is not as hot and these are the drier months. Regardless of the weather, it was still an incredible experience
So far, this has been the best trip I’ve been on. It was quite the experience. There are probably better hotels on the other islands, but this was really an incredible vacation. Overall I would rate the trip 4.5/5

King overwater villa: Newly renovated at Hilton Conrad Bora Bora Nui in 4K UHD
Our 4K video tour of the newly renovated (it was only 1 month old when we were there) King Overwater Villa that we stayed in at the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa. Truly one of the best hotel resorts on the planet. Our room was absolutely perfect: near the far end of the resort so there was lots of peace and quiet. Everything in the room was also new and shiny. We were in room 317. The resort is now called the Conrad Hilton Nui.
