Take your gear and go

Portrait session with Yuri Abietti. Writer and curator of horror and creepypasta novels. There's a bit of Wyatt Earp, Poe ans Lovecraft in the soul of this man. The shooting session was both cool and unsettling. Yuri is indeed a charismatic character and some stories which he is telling are quite scary. If you are curious about Yuri's work, you can find all his work here at this link:
Gear Used: Hasselblad X1D:

Trey Ratcliff's Travel Photography Tutorial

This new photography and travel video tutorial has everything you need to both inspire and teach you to expand your creative life!

Grab it here:

This is probably the most unique video tutorial I've ever made because I do it in a story-telling manner. The three countries I visited in Africa (Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Madagascar) have completely different photography situations, so that's why I thought it would be perfect to base a tutorial to follow my travels. That means the seven lessons include packing and equipment, landscape photography, HDR, People and portraits, wildlife, mobile photography, and street photography.

What can you expect to learn?
I spent about a month in Africa in all sorts of environments and recorded all the most interesting parts. You can check out the list of the eight lessons below to see what is covered in over 3 hours of the tutorial videos.

If you get the bonus edition, then you'll also see how I organize my photos and handle DAM (Digital Asset Management) in addition to getting a copy of all the photos I share in all the lessons.

As well as all the tech talk, there is quite a bit of inspiration and philosophy about travel and life embedded into the story-telling. There seems to be an increasing segment of my audience that is interested in how a creative life can also be a more zen, present, and loving life. Some people get that; others are somewhere on a path of self-discovery through creative arts.

As usual, if you're not super-thrilled, I'll give you all your money back! So, there's nothing to lose and a lot to gain

Grab it now and begin downloading immediately!

Lesson 1 - Welcome! The Game Plan and Mind Vitamins
Lesson 2 - Packing + Equipment and Travel to Botswana
Lesson 3 - Wildlife photography, Lightroom Basics, Processing, Collections
Lesson 4 - People and Portrait Photography
Lesson 5 - Wildlife Photography and Photoshop Basics
Lesson 6 - Landscape and HDR Photography
Lesson 7 - Mobile and Street Photography

When you get the bonus edition, then you'll also see how I organize my photos and handle DAM (Digital Asset Management) in addition to getting a copy of most of the photos I share in all the lessons.

Trey Ratcliff | Shooting video with 8K cameras attached to helicopters in New Zealand! (360)

Here's the first part of a really fun 360 video! I spent a few days with my friend Choppy who owns Over the Top Helicopters here in Queenstown, New Zealand. I mentioned to her on a recent trip together that we should really get her some decent video and photos for her website. She agreed! At first it started out as a small idea, and then it ballooned into quite the big idea! I flew over my friend Sofia Jin from London to be a bit of on-screen talent and help tell the story while my friends from Shotover cameras supplied one of the world's only 8K camera setups. Attaching a camera gimbal to a helicopter is no easy process! Anyway, go behind the scenes with me and you can find out all sorts of stuff. I decided to make Part 1 free as an incentive for you to get Part 2 by becoming a Stuck In Customs Passport Member at When you join, you also get access to around 200 other videos as well as some amazing tutorials.

If you want to find out more about the camera setup, head over to Aerial Cameras at Also, I shoot part of the video in my AirBnB in New Zealand - if you want to know more about that, see

Aurora HDR Deep Dive - Processing an Image from the Glenorchy Wetlands | Trey Ratcliff

Just beyond Glenorchy, New Zealand lies a place called Paradise. If you stop on the way to go on a walk through the wetlands, you get some great reflections heading up into that valley. In today's video, I do a bit of processing of one of those photos for you. Enjoy!

24 CRAZY Hours in Earnslaw Burn | Trey Ratcliff

This is a good video! I think you're really gonna like it. I spent 24 hours camping out in a very remote area of the Southern Alps. You can see some of what went on when I was getting some special photos for a patron. We choppered in and there was a bit more drama than I would have liked!

3 days of CITY PHOTOGRAPHY in Barcelona

We spend 3 days doing all the things sightseers and tourists do when visiting Barcelona: looking at all the Gaudi Architecture, visiting old buildings and parks, and going inside La Sagrada Familia, and spending the entire time trying my best to get some images out of my comfort zone.

Thanks to Lakey Inspired for the tunes: and also thanks to Bonobo. These videos would be a whole lot less interesting without awesome music behind them.
