Guatemala | Family Adventure in Antigua and Lake Atitlan!
Craddock family trip to Guatemala in April 2022! We visited the national zoo, hiked Pacaya Volcano to roast marshmallows in a magma vent, explored the colonial capital of Antigua, and toured a coffee plantation on the shores of Lake Atitlan.
Guatemala Adventure (5 Days)
Antigua is one of the most popular cities to visit when in Guatemala. It is a very touristy, cute city surrounded by volcanoes! One of our most remarkable adventures was sleeping in tents beside the Pacaya Volcano and climbing it in the morning to see the sunrise.
As a tourist, the first things you will notice about Guatemala are the people. The people are very friendly and are always willing to help tourists, making the trip more enjoyable!
Oh! And I cannot forget the Chicken Buses, which are Antigua's unique public transportation. They are impossible to miss as they are all over Antigua, filled with colours, lights and decorations.

6 Magical Guatemala Destinations
Traveling the world is something that everyone has daydreamed about at some point or another. I’ve been traveling by myself for a few years now, and during this journey, I’ve learned to be aware of my surroundings and to always trust my gut.
I don’t travel alone because it’s “trending on Twitter” or because I don’t have anyone else to come with me. I solo travel to challenge myself in new places and discover new cultures. Going solo forces me to meet strangers –and, because of this, I have amazing experiences along the way.
The most important thing I’ve learned during my journey is that solo traveling has the ability to change your life in the most unexpected ways. One important note: please don’t let guides (like this one) dictate where you should go, eat, and have fun. You don’t need a perfect plan to start. Just find the thing that makes you go get lost.
A few Guatemala Travel Tips:
For the most part, taxis or tuk-tuks are safe to use. As a general rule, always negotiate the price of the ride before getting in.
Shuttle buses tend to be the safest, but a bit more expensive form of transport. In my experience, always take the shuttle bus.
Scorpions are very common in the jungle of Guatemala, always shake your clothe and shoes before using them.
My favorite travel agency, Morenos Travel. Mauricio is bilingual, personable, friendly, and has nice vehicles: Tell them I sent you!

I head down to Guatemala and explore scenic Antigua, hike Volcano Acatenango and Fuego, took a road trip to Lake Atitlan, then head north to Semuc Champey, then headed to Tikal, home to the capital of the once mighty Mayan Empire, where I climb the many temples that have been discovered at the site.

The thing i've struggled with the most (Cinematic Travel Film)
I recently went on a spontaneous trip to Norway and Guatemala, two extremely different worlds. From the terrains, the weather, the colors. As I got home sitting down with all of this blue footage from Norway and all of this warm footage from Guatemala. I wanted to tell a story not of the landscape but more of how I feel lately as a creative. For me, something I’ve been battling with internally is imposter syndrome. We all go through this I know so many people have experienced this at one point in their life. It’s probably one of the hardest things to go through and throughout the years it’s something that comes in waves for me. Ive realized that when I make stuff about how I feel and I’m proud of, It gets me out of that world of negativity. I feel like as an artist, it’s one of the most accomplishing feelings getting over your own struggles with creating art. At the end of it all its not going to be about to fears you had, but what you did to get past them. So I made this video.
