HELLO from MOZAMBIQUE, my 124th country!!

I had no idea what to expect before arriving here... and right off the bat, I have been shocked to see everyone speaking Portuguese!! Did you know they speak Portuguese here in Mozambique? It's exactly like Brazil!

Moreover, walking the streets of Maputo (the capital city) feels like I am back in India -- with the loud rickshaws, colorful markets and overall chaos on the streets... It's safe to say that I draw a LOT of attention here as there are very few foreigners (and the #GingerBeard isn't helping!!)

Have you ever been to Mozambique? What are your thoughts?

Country #85 MOZAMBIQUE & The Journey to TOFO BEACH

The Journey Continues!! We've made it to Mozambique!! Nellie and I arrived in Maputo and after one night, rented a car & hit the road.

I have wanted to visit Mozambique ever since 2012 when I did a 4 month backpacking journey from Uganda down to Cape Town, missing only this wonderful country due to it being just a bit too far East. 5 years later however, we're here and super happy to explore the southern coast sharing it with you in this video.

So in this video we travel to Tofo Beach which is an absolute paradise. I hope you like it!!

Mozambique - Travel Tips for Surfers & Divers | TOFO & VILANCULOS

As a surfing and diving couple, we explored the southern coastline of Mozambique for 2 weeks. We stayed most of the time in Tofo and made a short trip to Vilanculos to end our trip. In this video we show you the beauty of the Bazaruto Archipelago, the red sand dunes, the two mile reef and some of the best dive and surf spots around Tofo like Tofinho. It should give you a good overview of the things to do, where to stay, where to eat, how to get around and what to take care of. Enjoy!

Self Drive Morrungulo Mozambique

Morrungulo is situated 560 km north of Maputo close to the town
of Masinga. On arrival one is welcomed by the unforgettable view of bright green coconut trees against a back drop of deep blue sea. Morrungulo is considered by many as the most picturesque area on the mainland south of the Bazaruto islands. The camp is owned and run by the Nelson family, who will go out of their way to ensure you a pleasant stay. The stunningly beautiful beach with excellent fishing and diving stretches for about 60 km leaving plenty of space for everyone. This magnificent resort is set in an unspoiled natural bay among thousands of palm trees. Accommodation consist of 2, 4 and 8 bed self-catering bungalows and chalets that are constructed of a beautiful blend of kiaat, reed, razor grass, thatch and other local materials. The bungalows are sea facing, each with a fully equipped kitchen, its own patio, and en-suite bathroom with hot and cold water. The resort also offers self-catering casitas that are 2 story-thatched huts complete with 2 bedrooms, bathroom and open kitchen with lounge and dining area. Morrungulo's large campsite is situated 20 meters from the beach amongst shady palm trees. Baraca's with plug points can by hired. These are thatched shelters ideal for groups as they can be turned into a kitchen or living area. Neat ablutions with flush toilets round off this 5 star campsite where you will enjoy an unforgettable holiday experience. A beautiful cozy bar is set among the palm trees between the campsite and bungalows. This is the ideal place to enjoy sun-downers after a long day on the sea, and socialize with friends and family. Morrungulo is a fisherman's haven. Whether you enjoy surf fishing, or are rigged to catch Marlin or
other game fish that are plentiful in the area, Morrungulo won't let you go home empty-handed. Boat launching is made easy and smooth due to the calm waters on this part of the coastline. The dive Center is situated within the camp and offers complete privacy in a lush unspoiled setting. Divers are accommodated in two bed bungalows, or for larger groups in an eight-bed dive Center bungalow, that is separated into 4 bedrooms. There is a fully equipped communal kitchen as well as ablutions with hot and cold running water. The dive Center has a qualified resident dive instructor with all the necessary gear for dive charters. The dive Center is a fully comprehensive operation and offers dives to spectacular reefs off the coastline like the well-known Sylvia Shoal. Snorkelers can enjoy the beauty that lies beneath the ocean by exploring the many reefs close to the beach.

Mozambique Story

A short video about what you can do and see in Mozambique.
Mozambique is a southern African nation whose long Indian Ocean coastline is dotted with popular beaches like Tofo, as well as offshore marine parks. In the Quirimbas Archipelago, a 250km stretch of coral islands, mangrove-covered Ibo Island has colonial-era ruins surviving from a period of Portuguese rule. The Bazaruto Archipelago farther south has reefs which protect rare marine life including dugongs.
