Guadeloupe, French Carribean (2020) 4K
Summary of the highlights of our trip to Guadeloupe in july 2020. We stayed in Deshaies (the place is called Chez Swann). The video is shot mostly on iPhone 11 Pro with DJI Osmo Mobile, but also some shots from my GoPro Hero8 Black and my DJI Mavic 2 Pro. Edited in Final Cut Pro X.

In the southern Caribbean Sea, there lies a French overseas department called Guadeloupe. The sole strait, Riviere Salée, that divides the archipelago's two main islands is the shape of a butterfly. Long beaches and sugar cane farms can be found on the hilly island of Grande-Terre. The island of Basse-Terre is covered by the Parc National de la Guadeloupe, which includes the La Grande Soufrière volcano and the Carbet waterfalls. Marie-Galante and La Désirade are two of the smaller islands.

Guadeloupe, sometimes known as the Butterfly Island (French: I'ile Papillon), on account of the shape of two of its major islands, is a group of islands in the eastern Caribbean, and is a French overseas department. It is located southeast of Puerto Rico. Guadeloupe has been a French possession since 1635 except for the years 1813-1814 when it came into Swedish possession as a consequence of the Napoleonic Wars. The island of Saint Martin is shared with the Netherlands.
Its southern portion is named Sint Maarten and is part of the Netherlands Antilles and its northern portion is named Saint-Martin and is part of Guadeloupe. Guadeloupe is an archipelago of nine inhabited islands, including Basse-Terre, Grande-Terre, Marie-Galante, La Desirade, Iles des Saintes (2), Saint-Barthélemy, Iles de la Petite Terre, and Saint-Martin (French part of the island of Saint Martin).
