DIY Destinations (4K) - Peru Budget Travel Show | Full Episode
In this episode of DIY Destionations, we'll feature the best of Peru on a budget. We'll start from Miraflores in Lima, and showcase the El Parque del Amor (Love Park), President Kennedy Park, Huaca Pucllana and Plaza Mayor and observe the celebration of saint Martin de Porres. Follow by a visit to the Ballestas Islands and Paracas National Reserve. Additionally, a both a drone and flight flyover on Nazca Lines and hike the Machu Picchu and Huyana Picchu. Ending the episode with a visit to Santa Teresa's famous Cocalmayo Hot Springs and off the beaten path Rain Mountain. All done safely, inexpensively and easily. /// The Bolivian Salt Flats in Uyuni, Bolivia are one of the most beautiful and unique places we've ever been! They are the biggest in the world (10,000 square kilometers of salt!). We drove 70 miles in the middle of the flats and had a gourmet picnic, and then hiked on an island that has formed on top of the flats. We ended the day with a gorgeous sunset and settled in our salt hotel for the night!

My travels in Bolivia with Audley Travel
Visiting Bolivia can sometimes feel like you’ve landed on a strange planet. From stretches of altiplano to the surreal, horizonless whiteness of the world’s largest salt flat, you can experience a range of Bolivia’s landscapes on a tailor-made tour.
Bolivia specialist Nick recently returned to the country and filmed his travels. His video aims to give you a taste of the kind of places you could visit yourself in this oft-forgotten part of South America.
Begin, perhaps, with a boat trip across the jewel-like blueness of Lake Titicaca, passing islands made of tortora reeds where people have made their homes for centuries. Your trip is likely to take you to La Paz, Bolivia’s high-altitude, ever-developing capital (and, you might choose to ride its cable cars, as seen in the video.)
Leaving the city behind, there’s a lot of scope for more hands-on activities, such as mountain biking or chocolate making. Then, driving in the high altiplano, you enter a world of scrubland, mountains and grazing guanacos, even a fluffy vizcacha or two (one makes a star appearance in this video).
Bolivia’s crowning glory is its immense, opalescent salt flats, the Salar de Uyuni. Hopefully, Nick’s footage gives you a sense of its odd beauty. You’ll get even more out of your trip if, like him, you choose to stay overnight on the flats. This way, you can watch how the setting sun mutes the whiteness into a dusky pink.
Bolivia combines well with Peru — why not visit it alongside Machu Picchu?
