A lot of discussions are held on the headline. No there are no rockets on this Video! Rocket takeoff means that the takeoff-run was very short and the climb rate was very high due to the fact that the aircraft was very light. Normally a Boeing 747-400 serves long haul routes with a lot of fuel on board on takeoff. In this regular case it needs a much longer takeoff-run. On rather rare short flights like the 1 hour flight form St. Maarten to Curacao, the aircraft is pretty light as it doesn t need much fuel. This is why it accelerates very fast and can climb very steep, other than on regular typical B747 Long Haul Takeoff procedures. Thanks for watching.
Winair Flight St Maarten to Saba Cockpit view Amazing Takeoff and Landing
So it was on Saturday the great day of flights planned four flights with Winair and the first trip goes to Saba Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport (The shortest commercial runway in the world) which is 400 meters long, had the opportunity to hear all radio communications in the aircraft via a couple Headphones that Roger had found to me. The flight with Captain Roger takes about 12 minutes. Went home to St. Maarten on the same flight so I got about 15 minutes to look at the island from the airfield must say I was surprised when it is a stunningly beautiful island, worth visiting again and then have some more time, part of the King Kong motion pictures recorded on the island. A big thanks to Winair for this experience. Are you part of the world I would strongly recommend a trip to Saba. Recorded at 30-04-2016.

@ Airport : Princess Juliana International Airport (IATA: SXM, ICAO: TNCM) is the main airport on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin/Sint Maarten. The airport is located on the Dutch side of the island, in the country of Sint Maarten. In 2015, the airport handled 1,829,543 passengers and around 60,000 aircraft movements. The airport serves as a hub for Windward Islands Airways and is the major gateway for the smaller Leeward Islands, including Anguilla, Saba, St. Barthélemy and St. Eustatius. It is named after Queen Juliana, who landed here while still only heir presumptive in 1944, the year after the airport opened. The airport has very low-altitude flyover landing approaches, owing to one end of its runway being extremely close to the shore and Maho Beach.

Cockpit View Landing St. Maarten Juliana Airport
Landing the Boeing 757 on runway 10, St Maarten. Just weeks prior to, a friend of mine was parked at a restaurant right across the street from Princess Juliana Airport, St Maarten. Several large chartered aircraft, not familiar with the airport or the rule to make a right U turn on the runway to taxi back landed to pick up passengers stranded on the Carnival Cruise ship. His jeep got torn up pretty badly from the jet engine blast, tearing the hard top roof off of his jeep.

My first ever arrival in St Maarten by air and one of my favourite landing videos ever!
I've been before to SXM but as a stop on a cruise ship and since then have been waiting to return.
This was filmed onboard Air France A330-203 registration F-GZCA flight AF498 from Paris CDG on January 7th 2019.
A beautiful day in the tropics, some breathtaking views breaking through the clouds on descent and the condensation over the wings creating some dramatic visual affects. Then it was gear down for the classic, low beach approach onto RWY09 at St Maarten. Once over Maho beach and on the ground the runway passes Simpson Bay, on the right hand side of the aircraft which is another breathtaking beach and offers some incredible views beyond the wing of the turquoise waters, palm trees and many yachts on the shore.
