Living in the Cayman Islands as an Expat Family No Income Tax No Snow Just Beach and Palm Trees

Living in the Cayman Islands as an Expat Family No Income Tax No Snow Just Beach and Palm Trees Plus pay off your student loans while living on a tropical island in the caribbean. Students and professionals are needed in the Cayman Islands to power the tourist and offshore investment economy. Many Expats from around the world live and work in the Cayman Islands for a few years at a time to live out the fantasy of tropical island living. We did it, we loved it and would recommend it. For a student with college debts it is the perfect way to earn tax free income and pay off large debts fast and also begin to save up cash for future studies, a long trip, or even a downpayment on a house. There are young people singles and couples who work a year or two and then travel the world. There are no rules, just dreams and endless possibilities. I never thought I could move to a tropical tax free island with my wife and 10 year old daughter, but we did it. Se sold off all the furniture, the car, and moved to the Cayman Islands. Once we got there it was easy to replace furniture and a car there. When we left the island a few years later, we sold the furniture and the car easily. Stuff is just stuff... But the memories and new friendships last forever. Plus the work experience comes in handy down the road as it looks good on a resume.

Rum Point vs. Seven Mile Beach

Cruise Ship & Island Travel Gear & Advice -

While in Grand Cayman, we enjoyed both Rum Point and Seven Mile Beach. Within this video, I explain my opinions regarding Rum Point and Seven Mile Beach. They are without a doubt the two most popular beaches in Grand Cayman and are also two of the most famous beaches in the world! Bermuda - wildlife and heritage

Watch the three-part Britain's Treasure Islands documentary series on BBC FOUR, starting Tue 12 Apr 2016 21:00. (repeated Wed 13 Apr 2016 20:00).

This mini-documentary explores Bermuda - the oldest of all of the UK Overseas Territories. Located in the North Atlantic, it is home to the oldest continually inhabited English settlement in the New World. It was first sighted by Spanish explorers, but settled by the English in 1609. Bermuda is home to many forts and the World Heritage site of St George's, the old capital - home to history and traditions. In this film, we see the dunking of the nagging wench - a tradition dating back to the 18th century.Bermuda is the most urbanised of all of the UK Overseas Territories, however offshore islands are a haven for wildlife, including many unique plants and animals. On the remote offshore islands, a unique petrel was rediscovered after centuries of presumed extinction, and the species has been intensively conserved ever since. In this video, we follow this incredible conservation success story.

Please note: although complementary to the BBC FOUR series, the 40 short mini-documentaries are not commissioned or editorially overseen by BBC.

Cayman Brac | Cayman Islands Sotheby's Realty | Caribbean

Cayman Brac is the second largest of the Cayman Islands and lies 89 miles to the north east of Grand Cayman, just a short half an hour or so flight away. Only 12 miles long with an average width of 1.25 miles, Cayman Brac (known simply as ‘The Brac’ to locals) is about 15 square miles in size.
‘Brac’ is actually a Gaelic word for ‘bluff’ and as such Cayman Brac is named after its spectacular bluff or cliff, rising to 140 feet above sea level at its highest, making this the greatest elevation in the three Cayman Islands. Within this rocky terrain an enticing array of caves abounds and visitors can enjoy tours with local guides and hear wonderful and mysterious tales of old along the way. Dive sites here are top quality and include a 330 foot long Russian Brigadier frigate called the MV Captain Keith Tibbetts that was scuttled in 1996 and is now teeming with aquatic life.

The Brac enjoys a slower pace of life in comparison to its big sister, Grand Cayman. Visitors come to Cayman Brac to get away from it all, to enjoy all the benefits of Caribbean island life in a natural laid-back setting. Homes are modern and there are a good many ocean front and inland plots and properties for sale. For such a small island Cayman Brac boasts a level of infrastructure that is unlike most islands of comparable size in the Caribbean, this provides a significant increase to the value of real estate in The Brac.

Cayman Islands - wildlife and heritage

Watch the three-part Britain's Treasure Islands documentary series on BBC FOUR, starting Tue 12 Apr 2016 21:00. (repeated Wed 13 Apr 2016 20:00).

This mini-documentary explores the wildlife and conservation of the Cayman Islands, a UK Overseas Territory in the Caribbean comprising Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. All three islands are home to a staggering diversity of wildlife that occurs in tropical dry forests, mangrove forests and vast seabird colonies. In this film, we encounter fiddler crabs, snakes, land hermit crabs, exquisite orchids and many unique birds that occur no where else on Earth. The Cayman Islands are also home to two unique iguanas, both of which are critically rare. Grand Cayman's blue iguana is so called for its striking blue colouration. The blue iguana was predicted to become extinct, but conservationists acted just in time by setting up a very successful breeding programme, and the species has been saved for the future. Off shore, diverse coral reefs are renowned across the world, and are the site for immense grouper spawning aggregations - including the largest remaining aggregation events left in the Caribbean.

This film is one of forty mini-documentaries made from the footage not used in the broadcast series.

How to Drink Cheap in Grand Cayman

Cruise Ship & Island Travel Gear & Advice -

Alcohol prices in Grand Cayman are high. Unlike the Virgin Islands and other places, alcohol cannot be purchased duty-free and consumed while in Grand Cayman. Duty-free alcohol can only be purchased before leaving Grand Cayman via airport or cruise ship port. The average price for a 24-pack of beer in Grand Cayman is $40-$50 USD and that's the local beer! Thankfully, the local Caybrew beers taste great but it's still expensive. Within this video, I explain how to plan ahead and drink less expensively in Grand Cayman. I hope that you enjoy my how to drink cheap tips video and please share this video with others! Also be sure to subscribe to the IrixGuy Adventure Channel ( and enjoy all of my videos.
