Street Food in Budapest!! ???????? THE ULTIMATE HUNGARIAN FOOD Tour in Budapest, Hungary!

???? Copenhagen Street Food Tour:
???? 100% Real Durian Chips - Order Here:

Welcome to Budapest, Hungary, an amazing city, full of history, beauty, and delicious Hungarian food! Today, I headed with my friend Adam ( to go on an ultimate Hungarian street food tour in Budapest. #Budapest #Hungary #HugarianFood

Great Market Hall - It’s one of the coolest markets in the world, a massive indoor market hall. Inside you’ll find all things Hungarian food, from an immense array of sausages and famous Hungarian cured meats to loads of paprika, and Hungarian pickles. We had an amazing time walking around, discovering the ingredients that make Hungarian food unique.

Fakanal Etterem - This is a nice restaurant on the second floor of the Great Market Hall, the chef recommended the eggs with sausage and extra chilies. It was delicious and the best way to get this street food tour started. Price - 970 HUF ($3.20)

Belvárosi Disznótoros - Next we walked over to Belvárosi Disznótoros, a locally popular restaurant for all things Hungarian meat. Inside you’ll find meat paradise - sausages of all kinds, meats galore, and something I noticed that we had to try - Mangalica pig - a special hairy pig from Hungary. Total price - 5,348 HUF ($17.65)

Molnár's Kürtőskalács - You can not visit Hungary and not eat Kürtőskalács - it’s not the easiest word to pronounce. It’s unique, it’s delicious, and they have a number of different flavors and combinations of what you can order. It’s loved by locals and just about everyone in the world who visit Budapest. Price - 1,200 HUF ($3.96) each

Retró Lángos Büfé - If you’re looking for the real deal Hungarian street food in Budapest, look no further than Retró Lángos Büfé, and specifically the food called langos. It’s a type of fried bread, loaded with you choice of toppings. We got the original with cream, cheese, and onions. It was everything you could possibly want on a fried bread, and incredibly tasty. I can still feel the pillowy dough sinking into my teeth. Price - 800 HUF ($2.64)

Downtown Market Hall - Hold Street Market - Next we headed to Downtown Market Hall in Budapest, another old market hall.

A Séf Utcája - After walking around for a while we stopped to eat at A Séf Utcája, specializing in home-cooked styles Hungarian food classic recipes. Food was delicious again, full of paprika, bright, and tasty. Price - 1,900 HUF ($6.27)

Espresso Embassy - Coffeeshop Budapest - By this time we needed a coffee, so we stopped at Adam’s favorite coffee shop called Espresso Embassy. Some of the best coffee you’ll find in Budapest.

Rétisas Vendéglő - To end this ultimate street food tour in Budapest, Hungary, we went to a sit down restaurant called Rétisas Vendéglő. It was a local spot with some unique and huge deep fried dishes. Great place, amazing food, and by the end of the day, we were stuffed! 7,490 HUF ($24.72) - Total price for everything

Thanks to Adam for taking me around Budapest. By the way, he does amazing motion design and animation:

Thank you for joining Adam and I on this Hungarian street food tour of Budapest!

IN THE MOOD FOR BUDAPEST | What To See, Do & Eat in Budapest | The Ultimate Hungary Travel Guide

Budapest is undoubtedly one of Europe’s most remarkable jewels, the sparkling pearl of the Danube. It’s a city with a trove full of treasures, with an expansive history that gave birth to the Buda castle district where you’d feel like you’ve stepped back in time.

On the cosmopolitan city of Pest, saunter through UNESCO-listed boulevards that feature a stunning array of Art Nouveau buildings, discover countless world-class museums that you’d want to get lost into and visit basilicas and opera houses where you’d wax lyrical under their spell. Budapest knows how to live well, and has a proclivity to sophistication. In this city, you’ll find gorgeous century-old coffeehouses and sumptuous restaurants where you can whet your appetites in the city’s gastronomy that’s brimming with cross-continental cuisines and the fantastic Hungarian food and wine scene.

This is a city that also balances lifestyle and wellbeing, where you can relax and blow some steam in some of the city’s most incredible offerings, its magical thermal waters and spas. Then, like a jewel on its crown, there’s the spectacular river Danube, one of the great rivers of the world, flowing through Budapest, with riverside banks that are so historically significant, they’re preserved as UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Enjoy this latest Budapest episode, and hope you'll be able to savour and enjoy this protean city as much as I did!

In today's Hungary travel vlog, we discuss 5 Things You Should NEVER Do in Hungary and Don't Do This in Budapest.

There are a few other posts about Hungary: 25 Things to do in Budapest, Hungary Travel Guide, DO'S AND DON’T IN HUNGARY, Visit Budapest - Five Things You Will Love & Hate about Budapest, Hungary, and 3 Crazy Things About BUDAPEST. If you are Hungarian, a Hungarian expat, or living in Hungary and you have any other suggestions of things related to the topic of don't do this in Hungary , make sure you comment below. Make sure you also try Palinka! Palinka is a fruit brandy! If offered Palinka it is rude to turn it down.

Hungary tourism is a big driver of the Hungarian economy, so they do overlook somethings that tourist do, but try to respect the cultural differences when you travel Hungary.

Hopefully you can use this to supplement your Hungary travel guide advice and not be viewed as a rude tourist.

I love Hungary - don't let the rules or culture differences keep you from visiting. Just be mindful of those cultural differences and enjoy this awesome country.

5 Things You Should Never Do In Hungary

Let me start off by saying, if I had to recommend just one city in Europe to visit it would probably be Budapest. It’s got everything, old world charm but in a modern city, the architecture is amazing and exactly what you think of when you think European city, it’s very safe, the food is amazing and it’s soooo affordable compared to comparable cities.

1 - Never clink glasses or bottles together. There was a revolution in Hungary in 1848 that was defeated. Legend has it that Austrians celebrated in Vienna by toasting and clinking their glasses. Hungarians vowed not to cheers with glasses for 150 years. While that time frame ended in 1998 - many Hungarians still do not cheers! It was actually against the law until the mid 1990s!

2 - Never make the Hungry Hungary joke to a Hungarian. It’s one of those things that non Hungarians say to Hungarians and well….it’s just not funny. Don’t do that!!!!

3 - Never forget to tip. After spending 8 months in countries where tipping isn’t customary and sometimes considered offensive, I often forget to tip! In Budapest and Hungary in general tipping is customary. The acceptable tipping rate is around 15%. Side note: Don’t say thank you until you’ve paid your tab. Saying thank you when you pay your tab lets the server know you’re done and you don’t expect any change. So make sure you don’t do that if you want change back.

4 - Never refuse Palinka. Palinka is a fruit brandy that is a favorite with Hungarians. Hungarians like to say Palinka in small amounts is medicine, in large amounts a remedy! You don’t drink Palinka alone - it’s a drink Hungarians have with friends. It’s is a big no-no to turn down Palinka if it’s offered to you.

5 - Never say Buda-PEST. That’s the quickest way to get on a Hungarian’s bad side. It’s Buddah - PESHT. Side note: DONT CALL IT Bucharest! That’s in Romania! I made that mistake…didn’t turn out well for me! In my defense I had one to many Palinka!!!!

Also, never miss a chance to hang out at one of the Budapest ruin bars.

Hungarian Food!! ???????? AMAZING GOULASH + Top Attractions in Budapest, Hungary!

???? Copenhagen Street Food Tour:
???? 100% Real Durian Chips - Order Here:

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY - One of the most spectacular cities in Europe, Budapest is a fantastic mix of delicious food loaded with paprika, and amazing attractions to visit. In this Hungarian food tour, we’ll eat delicious local food, and visit some of the most famous attractions. Get ready for a full tour of Budapest, Hungary! #Budapest #HungarianFood #goulash

St. Stephen's Basilica - Since it was on the way to the first restaurant, we stopped for a quick visit to St. Stephen's Basilica, a Roman Catholic basilica in the heart of Budapest. It’s spectacular.

Első Pesti Rétesház - Hungarian Restaurant - Located right in the heart of Budapest, around the corner from St. Stephen's Basilica is Első Pesti Rétesház. Local Hungarian friends had recommended the strudel there, so that’s exactly what I went for. I’m not sure about the other food, but their strudel is fantastic. I tried a sour cherry and a cabbage, both extraordinary. Total price - 1,300 HUF ($4.29)

Hungarian Parliament Building - Also known as the National Assembly of Hungary, this is a landmark and iconic building of Budapest.

Pozsonyi Kisvendeglo - But there was nothing I wanted more than to get started eating local Hungarian food on this tour. So we walked over to Pozsonyi Kisvendeglo, a local restaurant with an indoor section and lovely outdoor terrace. First I ordered one of their specialities, bone marrow with garlic and toast. Then without a doubt, there was nothing I wanted to eat more than Hungarian goulash, the most well known of all Hungarian food. Their goulash was outstanding, flavorful from paprika, and loaded with tender chunks of beef. Additionally, their Pörkölt, a Hungarian meat stew, served with pasta dumplings, was delicious. Ying had the steak with mushrooms, also fantastic. Great Hungarian food! Total price - 8,400 HUF ($27.69) for everything

Matthias Church - Church of the Assumption of the Buda Castle - After lunch we walked across the river to Matthias Church, which was very busy, and unfortunately it wasn’t open on the inside due to a wedding. But the outside was still worth a visit.

Buda Castle - Royal Palace - Finally, the last of the Budapest attractions we visited on this tour was Buda Castle. And then we were ready to eat again!

Náncsi Néni - Located not too far, but outside the limits of Budapest, is a restaurant that I really wanted to try, and so we caught a taxi directly there. Náncsi Néni is exactly what I was hoping for, a local Hungarian food restaurant, serving traditional Hungarian dishes, all within a picturesque tree shaded courtyard. We tried the catfish paprikash stew, and the roasted duck with liver. Both were delicious. Náncsi Néni is a little more of a Hungarian upscale restaurant, but it was well worth it, for the food and ambiance, and it’s a great place for kids too. 18,300 HUF ($60.33) - Total price for everything

Thank you for watching this Hungarian food tour of Budapest, and I hope you have an amazing time when you visit!

Hungarian or Magyar cuisine is the cuisine characteristic of the nation of Hungary and its primary ethnic group, the Magyars. Traditional Hungarian dishes are primarily based on meats, seasonal vegetables, fruits, bread, and dairy products.

Hungarian cuisine is mostly continental Central European, with some elements from Eastern Europe such as the use of poppy, and the popularity of kefir and quark. Paprika is often associated with Hungary and is used prominently in several dishes. Typical Hungarian food is heavy on dairy, cheese and meats, similar to that of neighboring Czech, and Slovak cuisines. Chicken, pork and beef are common, while turkey, duck, lamb, fish and game meats are mostly eaten on special occasions. Hungary is also known for relatively inexpensive salamis and sausages it produces primarily from pork, but also poultry, beef and others.

Bread is perhaps the most important and basic part of the Hungarian diet. It is eaten at all meals, accompanying main dishes. Before the fall of communism in 1990, white bread was a staple food. Numerous other types of baked goods, such as buns and pastries both salty and sweet, often creatively filled, have proliferated in recent years.

Main dishes may require a side dish (köret) or not. It is unusual to violate this convention. The side dish is most commonly potato in various styles, but rice or steamed vegetables are also popular. Some foods have a customary side dish (e.g., csirkepaprikás 'paprika chicken' is almost always eaten with noodles (nokedli), while others may take any side dish (e.g., rántott sajt 'fried cheese'). Some dishes also have toppings or bread on the side considered almost mandatory, for example the sour cream and bread with töltött káposzta 'stuffed cabbage'.

Recently, Hungarian chefs have become more creative, so Hungarian dishes prepared for tourists may seem unusual to Hungarians who familiar with more traditional preparations.Goulash, often imagined as the quintessential Hungarian dish, is not eaten very frequently.[by whom?] Other famous Hungarian meat stews include paprikás, a thicker stew with meat simmered in thick, creamy, paprika-flavored gravy, and pörkölt, a stew with boneless meat (usually beef or pork), onion, and sweet paprika powder, both served with nokedli or galuska (small dumplings). In some old-fashioned dishes, fruits such as plums and apricots are cooked with meat or in piquant sauces/stuffings for game, roasts and other cuts. Various kinds of noodles, dumplings, potatoes, and rice are commonly served as a side dish. Hungarian dry sausages (kolbász)[1] and winter salami are also widely eaten.

Other characteristics of Hungarian cuisine are the soups, casseroles, desserts, and pastries and stuffed crêpes (palacsinta), with fierce rivalries between regional variations on the same dish (such as the Hungarian hot fish soup called fisherman's soup or halászlé, cooked differently on the banks of Hungary's two main rivers: the Danube and the Tisza), palacsinta (pancakes served flambéed in dark chocolate sauce filled with ground walnuts) and Dobos Cake (layered sponge cake, with chocolate buttercream filling and topped with a thin layer of crunchy caramel).

Two elements of Hungarian cuisine that impress foreigners are the various vegetable stews called főzelék[1] as well as cold fruit soups, such as cold sour cherry soup (Hungarian: hideg meggyleves).

Hungarian cuisine uses a large variety of cheeses, but the most common are túró (a type of crumbly quark), cream cheeses, picante ewe-cheese (juhtúró), the most common Hungarian cheeses like Karaván, Pannonia cheese [hu], Pálpusztai, Emmentaler, Edam and Trappista.
