KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA (2023) | 10 Fun Things To Do In & Around Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is located in the west of Peninsular Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur enjoys an incredible diversity, expressed through its delicious cuisine, iconic landmarks, and modern skyscrapers mixed with colonial architecture. These are 10 Fun things to do in Kuala Lumpur:

10. Visit The Batu Caves
This series of caves is tucked within a limestone cliff and houses several Hindu temples and statues. The Temple Cave is the main one, sitting at the top of a 272-step rainbow-colored staircase.

9. Discover The Street Food Scene
Thanks to its blend of cultures, Kuala Lumpur offers a wide variety of food. Right in the heart of the city, you can find Jalan Alor, a street of atmospheric hawker stalls and restaurants. It’s a great place to try some local food at affordable prices, with choices of barbecued meats, noodles, fried rice, juices, and desserts.

☑️ Kuala Lumpur food tour:

8. Walk Around KL Forest Eco Park
KL Forest Eco Park is one of the only remaining parts of a tropical rainforest within the city limits, featuring nature trails and canopy walks.

7. Admire The Skyline
To gain a new appreciation of Kuala Lumpur, we recommend taking in the skyline view from above. We visited Vertigo Bar, located at the 59th floor of the Banyan Tree. Alternatively, you can head to SkyBar at Traders Hotel or the KL Tower observation deck.

6. Visit The Petronas Twin Towers
At a whopping 88-stories, these are the tallest twin towers in the world. At the ground level, be sure to check out Suria KLCC, a shopping center with a variety of designer stores, cafés, and restaurants.

☑️ Twin Towers entry ticket:

5. Party At Changkat Bukit Bintang
Bukit Bintang is the entertainment epicenter and comes alive at night. Changkat, a stretch of bars and restaurants in Bukit Bintang, is a party haven for locals, tourists, and expats.

4. Stroll Around Chinatown
Petaling Street Market is the heart of Chinatown. Other interesting places to visit include the Sin Sze Si Ya Temple and Kwai Chai Hong.

3. Visit The Thean Hao Temple
This six-tiered temple is one of the biggest in all of Southeast Asia, combining elements of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. Located on a hill a bit outside the city center, the temple also provides some fantastic views of Kuala Lumpur.

2. Shop At the Cultural Bazaar (Pasar Seni)
The Cultural Bazaar, formerly known as the Central Market, is an important historic landmark in the city. Today, it’s a popular market for handicrafts, coffee stalls, and all sorts of delicious sweets.

1. Spend Time At KLCC Park
Finally, right next to the Petronas Twin Towers, you can find a beautiful 50-acre KLCC Park with walking trails. Every evening, Lake Symphony hosts a light show here. It only lasts about 10 minutes and usually starts at 8, 9 and 10pm.

While Peninsular Malaysia is celebrated for its bustling cities, melting pot of culture, tasty food, and beautiful architecture, Borneo is home to an abundance of flora and fauna, numerous ethnic tribes, and dense jungles. 10 Best Places to Visit in Malaysia - Travel Video

Check out all the places seen in this video:

If countries were awarded for diversity, Malaysia would top first place. Not only is Malaysia a melting pot of ethnic cultures, but it is also a blend of many different customs, cuisines and religions all coexisting peacefully together. From large island groups to mountains and tropical rainforest, the country’s geography is every bit as diverse. What’s more, Malaysia is a unique country in that is divided into two main landmasses. West Malaysia occupies the southern half of a peninsula shared with Thailand, while East Malaysia is situated on the Borneo island. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Malaysia:

PENANG, MALAYSIA (2023) | 10 Awesome Things To Do On Penang Island

Penang island has become a popular tourist destination thanks to its colonial architecture, natural and cultural attractions, and some of the best street food in Asia. Here are 10 of the best things to do in Penang:

10. Try The Unique Cuisine Of Penang
Dishes you should try include Laksa, Cendol, and Nasi Kandar. In the heart of George Town you can also find the Chulia Street Night Market where you can sample some delicious Chinese-Malaysian food, such as Char Kuey Teow & Wonton Mee.

☑️ Penang Street Food Tour:

9. Explore George Town’s Historical Streets & Art Scene
When walking around the historical area, you’ll find lots of beautiful buildings and wall paintings, which represent images from Penang’s past and daily life.

???? Where we stayed in George Town - Attic Hotel:

8. Take The Funicular Up To Penang Hill
Penang Hill offers panoramic views of the city and the mainland in the distance. But you can also find a Hindu temple, a mosque, a variety of nature trails, an art gallery, and even cafés and food courts.

7. Discover Flora And Fauna At The Habitat
The Habitat is a rainforest discovery center that takes you into the heart of the jungle. It’s a treasure of biodiversity, boasting an abundance of wildlife. You can explore the forest by walking a nature trail, including informational signs, a canopy walk and a viewing platform.

☑️ Entry Ticket The Habitat:

6. Stroll Around Clan Jetties in George Town
Located at the waterfront, this unique type of settlement was created by Chinese immigrants in the late 19th century. There are now six jetties you can visit, and Chew Jetty is the most popular one with many souvenir shops and places to eat.

5. Explore Little Indi
The temple Sri Mahamariamman marks the start of the area and behind it, you’ll find colorful streets with goldsmiths and stores selling sarees and trinkets. But what we loved the most was the tasty and authentic Indian food.

4. Discover The Buddhist Kek Lok Si Temple
Kek Lok Si is the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. The temple is made up of colorful prayer halls, beautiful gardens, ponds with fish and turtles, an impressive seven-tiered pagoda, and a large bronze statue of the Buddhist Goddess of compassion.

3. Hike At Penang National Park
Penang National Park is the smallest national park in Malaysia. There are 3 walking trails that cut through the jungle here. We decided to take the right fork to head to Monkey Beach, which is the most popular and easiest of the three trails as it’s relatively flat.

☑️ Monkey beach trail:

2. Sunbathe On Batu Ferringhi Beach
Batu Ferringhi Beach has powdery soft sands and turquoise waters to enjoy. It’s a great place to watch the sunset.

1.Balik Pulau Bike Ride
Balik Pulau is a hidden gem is covered by beautiful greenery, paddy fields, and rolling hills. It’s less populated and less developed than the rest of the island.

Malaysia vs Philippines. Two of my favorite countries in the SE Asian region and both have their advantages. It honestly, is shocking the level of quality you get in Malaysia for the cost compared to the PH. Now, I will say there is much less international appeal in Malaysia compared to the Philippines but a lot of English is spoken and it is a great stop or destination! In this video I go over a lot of my own opinions and comparisons of the two! Enjoy!

We travel with Pangea Travel to this amazing island and cross by car to the biggest sights. We visit the beaches of Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah and Pasir Tengkorak. We also sail through the Kilim Geoforest Park, a mountain range full of caves and coastal mangrove forests. Finally, we sleep in one of the world's most beautiful eco resorts: Berjaya.

After the busy capital of Kuala Lumpur, the jungle in Taman Negara, the high mountains in the Cameron Highlands, colonial Penang and this wonderful island, our amazing journey through Malaysia is over, but of course we continue. This time Australia is up next!

We make our trip through Malaysia during a year-long world tour. We may even continue to travel indefinitely. On New Year's Day we started in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. Then you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. Malaysia is already our nineteenth destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in Langkawi, then back to Malaysia and then on to many more beautiful destinations! We also cross over to Oceania and Africa! We travel non-stop all year round and film everything, with a new episode every week. Also take a look at instagram @woutoftheworld or
