What happens when an Israeli visits Egypt?

PatreEgypt and Israel are not exactly on the best terms. So if an Israeli visits Egypt, what is the reaction?

For some background on how Egyptians view israel, watch this video where people are asked which country they hate the most:
The answer was quite consistent: Israel

But I spent two weeks travelling across Egypt, interacting with many different people, and my experience was a lot more nuanced. Watch the video to find out more!

0:00 - Intro
1:13 - First interactions in Cairo and visiting Fustat
5:30 - Israeli tries to ride motorbike with Egptian driver. What happens?
9:13 - The other pyramids: Red and bent pyramid
12:56 - Israeli visits Egypt war museum
17:25 - Cairo slum: garbage city
24:22 - The Pyramids of Giza
26:31 - Israeli visits Aswan, becomes Arafat
29:00 - drinking from the Nile river
30:22 - real vs fake Nubian village
31:32 - Abu Simbel
32:52 - Cycling to ancient sites in Luxor
36:20 - Egyptian speaks fluent Hebrew
37:35 - great temple of Karnak
38:47 - Israeli visits Egyptian city of Alexandria
40:25 - Israeli teaches Egyptian kids how to blog
42:25 - Epilogue

There were also many other interesting moments not caught on camera. if you want to know more about that and anything else about Egypt travel, ask away!

We Tried Egypt Street Food | Must Eat Local Dishes in Cairo

Trying Egyptian Food in Cairo - it's our second day here in Cairo, Egypt and we thought we would head on out to try some of the local Egyptian and Middle Eastern Food.

To get our pallet ready we tried Ma'An Sulta (Salad water), before getting some prickly fruit from a street food cart. We then headed to Felfela, a famous restaurant here in Cairo to have some Turkish coffee, Shorbet 'ads (lentil soup), baba ganoush (eggplant dip), ful, besara and Betinjan Maqli.

On the way to our next restaurant we tried arabic coffee for the first time, hibiscus juice as well as some white Egyptian Sobia drink before trying some home cooked Bamya.

Before we tried the most famus Egyptian dish, we had some Baskote Yansoon as we made our way towards the end of downtown to try Koshari...I am not sure how we had space for desert but managed to squeeze in Konafa, Basbousa and more...we are officially full!

5 YIL SONRA TÜRKİYE'YE DÖNDÜM!! (Kıbrıs'a Feribot Yolculuğu) ???????? ~505

69. ülkem olan Kuzey Kıbrıs'tayım. Dünya üzerinde bulunan 197 ülkeyi bu kanalda içerikler üreterek gezeceğim. Seyahatim esnasında çektiğim günlük videolarımda farklı kültürleri ve ilginç hayatları sizlerle paylaşıyorum. Amacım sizlere seyahat ve dünyamızın güzellikleri konusunda ilham olmak.
Çünkü dünyamız görülmeye değecek kadar güzel !!

Is Egypt Safe? Everything you SHOULD and SHOULDN'T do for a safe and happy trip to Egypt.

After spending one month in Egypt, and getting the question asked a TON, I decided to clear things up and let y'all know if Egypt is a safe place to travel to in 2019. There's been a lot in the news lately, with British Airways and Lufthansa cancelling flights, and tourism taking a dip over the past few years, so here's my take on traveling to Egypt as a woman in 2019. You'll also get a list of 10 things you SHOULD do for a safe trip in Egypt, and 3 things you SHOULDN'T.

I travelled here with my fiance, and we stayed mostly with his family, all of whom are from Cairo and speak Arabic. Although I was lucky enough to have them looking after me, I did my best to understand what it would have been like in this country if I hadn't been so lucky. I also had a couple of female friends visit - and they spent some time out on their own in Cairo so I got a couple of tips from them too :)

If you have any questions, or if I missed something, let me know if the comments below!

Hope you enjoy, and we can't wait to share our next video about Dahab with you!! (Coming as soon as the WiFi in Cappadocia allows!)

Hi! We're Hannah and Chad! We met at college and got married in August of 2016. As poor newlyweds and recent college grads, we moved to New York City to begin our careers in finance. Only one year later, after accumulating over 2 million miles and points through travel hacking, we booked round-the-world business class tickets to over 40 countries for free. We quit our jobs, sold everything we owned, and began this once-in-a-lifetime adventure on August 27, 2018.
