Amazing Things to Do in Macau & Top Macau Attractions

Discover with us the most amazing things to do in Macau & Top Macau Attractions. Welcome to Macau - Las Vegas of the East. Apart from the huge number of casinos, the city has a unique atmosphere where you can experience a fusion of Chinese culture and rich Portuguese heritage. If you are going to visit Hong Kong, Macau is only 60 kilometers away. The cities are connected by a system of tunnels and bridges, including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge - the world's longest continuous infrastructure construction across the sea.
Whether or not you are a fan of gambling, don't miss a visit to the biggest casino resort in the world - Venetian Macau. A visit to this breathtaking place can take up to a whole day. You don't have to be a guest to experience a cruise in a Venetian gondola, and nowhere in Asia are there more luxury shops concentrated in one place than here.
History lovers shouldn't miss a visit to the A-Ma Temple. It is believed that the name of the city is derived from the name of this temple. Its origins date back to the 15th century AD, and it is one of the oldest traditional temples in Macau. The complex is made up of 6 sections, each of which reveals the gems of classical Chinese architecture. When you visit, don't forget to write, and hang your wishes if you want them to be fulfilled.
The city was a Portuguese colony for more than 400 years, as evidenced by the ruins of the 16th-century complex, where the beautiful facade and the front stairway of St. Paul's Cathedral are the best preserved.
The best place to breathe the history of old Macau is the Largo do Senado Square, the governmental centre from the colonial era. You will find splendid pastel-colored classic buildings, shops, and restaurants with typical southern European architecture. When walking through the old city, we recommend trying local cuisine - it is a unique mixture of Chinese and Portuguese tastes.
At a close distance to the square, about 5 minutes by foot, visit the late 16th-century Baroque-style St. Dominic's Church - the oldest church building in the city. This building shows the mixture of European and local Macanese features in its design. The church's high altar features a beautiful statue of the Madonna and Child as the centerpiece and is flanked by wood and ivory-carved statues of several saints.
Not afraid of heights? Then you must visit the 338-metre-high Macau Tower. Its observation deck features the best views of the city, restaurants, theatres, and shopping malls.

Macau Travel Tips: 10 Things to Know Before You Go

10 things YOU need to know before you go to Macau. A comprehensive travel guide to bring you up to speed on the Language, Food, Casinos, and more! First, some basic knowledge on Macau: Macau was a Colony of Portugal from 1557-1999, and now it’s a Special Administrative Region of China just like Hong Kong. Macau is small -- 30 sq km, or 11 sq miles. 640,000 people live there. In 2017 Macau had 30 million visitors… lots of people for such a tiny place. 64km (40 miles) west of Hong Kong. A great day trip from Hong Kong, but easily worth 2 nights

Macau is best known as a gambling and shopping mecca, but it also has a really neat historic portuguese center
Macau is the only place in China where you can gamble legally. It generates more revenue from gambling than anywhere else on the earth including more than about seven times the revenue generated by “The Strip” in La Vegas

4 main parts…
the main part of Macau with the historic Portuguese core. This is called the Macau Peninsula
Taipa
Cotai Strip
Colane

2. Getting In

Ferry from Hong Kong
Takes 40-60 Minutes
2 different operators
Turbojet: The Red One
Cotai Water Jet: The Blue One
4 Ferry Terminal in Hong Kong
2 Ferry Terminals in Macau -
If you’re going to the Cotai Strip, most convenient to take Cotai Water Jet
Going to the Historic Portuguese section, take Turbojet

Macau does have it’s own airport, but not many flights

There’s a new bridge from HKG to Macau, you can take a bus on it

Or cross the border by land from China.

4. Unlucky
This number omitted because it’s unlucky. 4 in Chinese sounds like the word for “Death.” Most buildings typically omit this floor.

5. Getting Around

Free Shuttle Service

Macau’s hotels offer free shuttle service from the airport, ferry terminals, and border gates.

· The Venetian Macao Free Shuttle Schedule

· The Parisian Macao Free Shuttle Schedule

· Sands Cotai Central Free Shuttle Schedule

Bus
Public buses operate frequently throughout Macau, Taipa, and Coloane. Buses have onboard stop notifications in Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese and English.

· Price: Within Macau or Taipa: MOP3.2, Macau-Taipa: MOP4.2, Macau-Coloane: MOP5, Airport service: MOP4.2.

Taxi
Macau’s taxis come in two color schemes: one is yellow, the other is black and cream. Both color taxis charge the same fees. Taxis stands are located near hotel lobbies.

Tips:

·Base price (first 1.6 km): MOP17, additional MOP2 for each 260 m afterwards.
Extra fees: Taxi waiting fee is MOP2 for every minute. Taxis have a MOP3 luggage storing fee. There is a MOP2 fee from Taipa to Coloane, and a MOP5 fee from Macau to Coloane. There is an MOP5 fee for taxi trips to and from the airport.

Uber operates in Macau

6. Money
Macanese Pataca (MOP)
Most shops and restaurants will accept HKG to pay, with a 1:1 exchange rate to MOP
The exchange rate is fixed at HK$1 = MOP$1.03
But you’ll typically get change back in MOP

7. Language

Portuguese (but its own dialect)
And Chinese (Cantonese)
A little less english than Hong Kong, but enough to get by

8. Shopping

In every hotel on the Cotai Strip

9. The rest of Macau outside the Casinos and Historic Districts

10. Food:
Macanese cuisine’ is a mix of southern Chinese and Portuguese ingredients and cooking techniques. With a history dating back over 400 years, the cuisine is often regarded as the world’s first fusion cuisine.

Egg Tart that is so popular in Dim Sum restaurants originated here.. Lord Stows cafe is the original located in Taipa. Most convenient location is the one in the Venetian

Bifanas - Thin breaded pork Sandwich

Really good high end Chinese food cheaper than Hong Kong. The Wynn hotel has some really good options.

Walking The Length of The Richest Country in The World | Macau Adventure Travel Vlog #3

I walked the length of the richest place in the world; Macau, China.

I started at the Zhuhai Macau boarder Gate and walked all the way to the other side of Macao, Hac Sa Beach.

I walked through Macau side, Taipa, Cotai Strip and ended in Coloane at Hac Sa Beach.

Macau is one of the most unique cities and places in the world and because it is known as the Las Vegas of Asia it is often overlooked as an adventure travel destination. However, Macau is home to urban landscapes like nowhere else and if you enjoy urban exploration then it is the perfect adventure travel destination.

Fai Chi Kei is the most densely populated part of Macau and Macau is the densest place in the world. So walking under the towering apartment blocks and dimly lit alleyways made for a perfect adventure.

I walked to the Red Market area which is a local market in Macau home to lots of street food and in this area you can really see local life in the city.

Next I walked through the streets to Senado Square, Ruins of Saint Paul and St. Dominic's Church. Usually these Macau landmarks are very busy with travellers however on todays thru hike of Macau it was very quiet and seemed more like a hidden gem you would find travelling off the beaten path.

This is because of the Coronavirus there are many travel bans and Macau tourism has suffered.

This meant on my walk I had to wear a face mask however beyond that I felt safe.

After walking over the Macau bridge and passing the Macau tower and walked into Taipa and explored the nature side, going around Taipa Hill.

Here you can find amazing views of the Cotai strip and Macau's city skyline.

Finally I walked to Coloane, going on the coastline and climbing the rocks by Cheoc Van Beach.

I ended my thru hike of Macau by sitting on the black sand beach of Hac Sa.

It was a crazy adventure travel trip and I had so much fun exploring the city and vlogging my adventure.

Please let me know what you thought of this Macau adventure travel vlog and please let me know if you would like to see more walking adventures like this.

Perhaps you can tell me which country I should walk the length of next.

Thank you for watching this adventure vlog and I will see you in the next travel video!

A DAY IN MACAU ???????? TeamLab | Eiffel Tower | Ferris Wheel | Hong Kong Travel Vlog Day 6 Part 2 ????????

Spend the Day with me in Macau visiting The Venetian, The Parisian and Studio City in the Cotai Strip to see teamLab SuperNature, go to the top of the Macau Eiffel Tower and take a ride on the worlds tallest figure of eight ferris wheel the Golden Reel before catching the Macau to Hong Kong Ferry back to Hong Kong..

After spending the morning in the Old Town of Macau visiting Senado Square, the Ruins of Saint Paul's and Monte Fort I head to the Cotai Strip on the Wynn courtesy bus and first walk around the Wynn Galaxy before heating to the Venetian Hotel.

At the Venetian I do a tour to view the canals and gondolas before visiting teamLab SuperNature, an immersive 3 dimensional art experience that has to be seen, I highly recommend it.

I then head over to the Parisian Hotel and get my dinner before climbing to the top of the Macau Eiffel Tower, there is a great view from the very top.

Next I went to Studio City to go on the worlds highest on first figure of eight ferris wheel, the Golden Reel.

Then it was time to go back to Hong Kong, I got the Studio City courtesy bus back to the Outer Ferry Terminal to catch my Turbo Jet Ferry back to Hong Kong.

The ferry took around one hour and then I caught the MTR back to my hotel.

2022 Macau Vlog #3|3-day self-management in Broadway|Night scene|Ruins of St. Paul's |The Londoner

24/Aug/2022 from HK en-routing to Macau and starting a 7-day centralised medical observation followed by 3-day self-management of health before heading to Shanghai.
Embrace half freedom ~ During 3-day self-management of health, the Macau health code is yellow means only outdoor area are allowed.

Picked a lovely day to visit the ruins of St. Paul’s after taking the PCR test.
Arguably Macau’s most famous/identifiable landmark, the Ruins of St. Paul’s continue to captivate visitors centuries after it was originally constructed.
The historical site is very quiet and peaceful without the hustle and bustle

Romantic night scene at the Londoner, The Parisian and The Venetian

In the next video I will be sharing with you on Morpheus hotel in City of Dreams ~ please stay tuned

MACAU VLOG PART-3 QUICK TOUR TO THE VENETIAN + THE PARISIAN & EIFFEL TOWER MACAU #macauvlog

Feel's like in paris na, +venice pa...
Enjoy much.

The Venetian Macao (Chinese: 澳門威尼斯人) is a luxury hotel and casino resort in Macau owned by the American Las Vegas Sands company. The Venetian is a 39-story,[1] casino hotel on the Cotai Strip in Macau. The 10,500,000-square-foot (980,000 m2) Venetian Macao is modeled on its sister casino resort The Venetian Las Vegas.
