A moment in the Solomon Islands | Travel Video
This short film was shot during five days in the Solomon Islands, mainly around Munda and Gizo at the edge of the Roviana Lagoon. I was documenting a scientific expedition and was only able to shoot alongside my main task.
I would love to come back for a longer and deeper exploration of this magical country. the Solomon Islands are a very special place and the untouched natural beauty there is second to none. Definitely, one of the (still) often overlooked jewels in the Pacific!

This ancient sight dating back to the 1st century BC is simply breathtaking. The adjacent temple was destroyed by Romans in 70 AD, and the wall became the main pilgrimage destination when the Jewish community came to lament the destruction of the temple. And thus it is also called the Wailing Wall or Kotel. For the Jews, this is the holiest site in the world. Pilgrims from all over the world come here to place a small paper with prayer or request into its cracks.

Solomon Islands is a sovereign state consisting of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands in Oceania lying to the east of Papua New Guinea and northwest of Vanuatu and covering a land area of 28,400 square kilometres (11,000 sq mi).The country has a population of 652,858 [7] and its capital, Honiara, is located on the island of Guadalcanal. The country takes its name from the Solomon Islands archipelago, which is a collection of Melanesian islands that also includes the North Solomon Islands (a part of Papua New Guinea), but excludes outlying islands, such as Rennell and Bellona, and the Santa Cruz Islands.
In 1568, the Spanish navigator Álvaro de Mendaña was the first European to visit them, naming them the Islas Salomón.[8] Britain defined its area of interest in the Solomon Islands archipelago in June 1893, when Captain Gibson R.N., of HMS Curacoa, declared the southern Solomon Islands a British protectorate.[9][10] During World War II, the Solomon Islands campaign (1942–1945) saw fierce fighting between the United States, Commonwealth forces and the Empire of Japan, such as in the Battle of Guadalcanal.
The official name of the then British administration was changed from the British Solomon Islands Protectorate to the Solomon Islands in 1975, and self-government was achieved the following year. Independence was obtained, and the name changed to just Solomon Islands (without the definite article), in 1978. At independence, Solomon Islands became a constitutional monarchy. The Queen of Solomon Islands is Elizabeth II, represented by the Governor-General.

8K - 360° Ambiance -Solomon’s Pools, Bethlehem
On the road between Bethlehem and Hebron is the beautiful and tranquil Solomon’s Pools. Surrounded by hilltops, wildflowers, and olive trees, this ancient water system is comprised of large reservoirs that go back about 2,500 years and continued to be in use up until the 1960s. The pools were used throughout the region as a source of drinking water, agricultural irrigation, and domestic use. These ancient water basins are cut into the bedrock and remain as an impressive testament to the ingenuity and engineering skills of the ancient people who built them.
Although a lot of mystery surrounds the history of the pools, since ancient times it is said that the pools were built by the great King Solomon and that the mineral-rich waters have healing properties.
