JOURNEY into MONGOLIA

My new sound effect pack :) -
I went on a solo adventure into western Mongolia with Indy Guide ( to explore what this amazing part of the country had to offer and visit the eagle hunters of the region, I was not disappointed. The views were on another level, especially in the Altai mountains but the Kazahk people were just extremely welcoming and open which made the experience one to remember. Staying with a different family each night, experiencing their daily routines and eating and drinking with them. We continued to make our way around the west, attending the Nauryz eagle festival and exploring some of the snowy mountains in the Altai by horseback. Filming my adventure through Mongolia was extremely tough, we were on the move constantly and electricity is hard to come by so I relied on power banks a lot to charge my camera, being from Africa i'm not used to temperatures as low as -20 degrees celsius during this time of the year and of course the language barrier but I thoroughly enjoyed the every moment and it was one of the most raw feelings of travel I have experienced.

Thanks to Ati Tosun from Indy-Guide for making this trip such a success in terms of an adventure, I hope this video gives a small insight into what is to be expected when visiting this part of the world.

I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and YouTuber who's been to 61 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017.

I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This marked the start of my efforts to turn vlogging into a full-time job.

After that European trip I explored much of Asia: visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan.

I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.

I've travelled to North America just once as a YouTuber, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.

In 2022, I took my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting Kenya and Tanzania, before heading to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai and Lebanon. Europe followed, covering both the Greek and Turkish sides of Cyprus, and afterwards going back to Italy for the second time to cover Milan and Sicily. I then visited the Caribbean for the first time, covering the Dominican Republic, before heading to both Brussels and Amsterdam, then covering Taiwan and the Philippines in Asia. I finished off the year with a trip around Morocco.

I started my travels in 2023 by finally visiting Paris, taking the Eurostar from London. I then headed over to Qatar for a few days, before heading to Asia, with videos following from India, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan and Mongolia.

Mongolia Traveling in Ulaanbaatar Fun Without A Tour?

Mongolia Traveling in Ulaanbaatar Fun Without A Tour?

When I arrived in Mongolia, I was so amazed at the scenery and everything I saw! In Ulaanbaatar, I wandered the city in search of things to do without having organized a tour. Ulaanbaatar is a city one can easily get lost in if landmarks aren't remembered, but after memorizing some easy landmarks in Ulaanbaatar, I was able to navigate the city and find some many interesting things to do in the city without a tour! If you are a tourist in Ulaanbaatar and have no registered for a tour around the city, don't worry, for there are many things to see and enjoy around Mongolia's beautifully amazing capital city.

Mongolia is an amazing country to travel around in, due to its fantastic landscapes and total otherworldliness. Even in booming Ulaanbaatar, you’ll find that the city stands poised on the edge between East and West: Western-style restaurants next to traditional restaurants selling dumplings and soups; people wearing jeans and teeshirts walking beside people wearing the classic deel; taxi drivers listening music made on the morin khuur discussing American soap operas that they watch on TV…

Because tourism is still in its infancy in the country, Mongolia can sometimes be a bit challenging to travel around. In fact, many travel companies even in Ulaanbaatar still don’t have a web presence! But don’t let that deter you from taking the trip of a lifetime.

1. Visit Ulaanbaatar

Chances are, you’re going to arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city, whether you’re flying or coming via the Trans-Mongolian train from Moscow to Beijing. And Ulaanbaatar is a great place to start! Not only will you find a plethora of museums, monasteries, and other interesting places to visit, but it can also make a great base for planning the next stage of your Mongolian adventure. I recommend choosing a reputable hotel or hostel to stay in for at least the first couple nights of your trip so that you can familiarize yourself with the city and culture prior to jumping out into the countryside.

2. Learn about the History

When I arrived to teach in Mongolia, I knew approximately four things about the country other than its geographic location: horses, nomads, Ghengis Khan, and that Ulaanbaatar is, on average, the coldest capital city in the world. Of course, that wasn’t going to fly with my students and their fierce national pride—it wasn’t long before I knew more about the culture, language, history, and traditions than I ever thought I might know!

3. Stay in a Ger

Mongolian gers, or yurts, are the traditional nomadic style of housing in the country—but plenty of people still live in them today! Even on the edges of Ulaanbaatar, you’ll find sprawling ger districts full of families who want to live in the classic style while still enjoying all the conveniences of life in the capital city. Staying in a ger during your stay is definitely an experience that you won’t want to miss out on.

4. Ride a camel in the Gobi Desert

Speaking of the Gobi Desert, this is one part of Mongolia that’s not to be missed if you’re going to be getting out into the countryside. It’ll take you a little while to get to—even if you take the train, you’ll be looking at an overnight or full-day journey! But it’s well worth the trip: there’s nothing in the world that’s quite like these vast expanses of no-man’s land. I recommend basing yourself in the small city of Dalanzadgad so that you can easily get out to see three of the main attractions of the Gobi, including the flaming cliffs of Bayanzag and dunes as far as the eye can see in Khongriin Els, although there are plenty of other places to explore as well.

5. Sleep in a Monastery

Although many Mongolians claim to be atheists, Buddhism is still the predominant religion in the country, and you’ll see monks walking around Ulaanbaatar and most of the other major cities. And the country’s impressive monasteries can be quite interesting to visit. But why stop at just visiting them for a brief period of the day? Manjusri Monastery, located only a short distance to the south of Ulaanbaatar in Bogd Khan National Park, is a great choice for this. You can hike out to the monastery, explore the ruins of the monastery, and then spend the night in their dormitory for some quiet contemplation and zen relaxation time before you hike out in the morning.

???????? Mongolia: a travel documentary

#Mongolia #Travel #Documentary

An adventure into an amazing country. 4 seasons packed into 15 days

The Summer: the Gobi is not just a desert. Is a unique region comprising of mountains, sand dunes, grass lands and flat pans. Life here is though not only physically (due to the arid climate) but also mentally: before reaching the mountains and the dunes, the so-called middle Gobi is an immense flat pan with no landmarks for miles. It's mental as it seems to be in an infinite area that will never end.

The Spring: the Orhon valley. This is the Mongolia typical postcard. Green land and blue sky dotted with white ghers (the local typical tents) and clouds. Full of livestock, every valley in the region shows the nomadic life of Mongolians that has been going on for centuries. In the town of Karkhorin, very little ruins bring your mind to the era of Chinggis Khan when Mongolians run for more than two centuries the largest empire that ever existed in human history.

The Autumn: as we moved North to reach the Hovsgol lake, we had to pass through a range of mountains. The weather turned rainy, grey and cold as if we were on a November day in Europe. Crossing rivers started to became a concern and mud appeared on all trails. Rain never stopped for 2 days.

The Winter: on the highest pass the rain became snow. On the Zoolongyin pass, we got stuck with our cars for more than 3 hours. Trying to get the cars out of the snow and mud was though. Eventually we did manage to get over.

The Spring again: lake Hovsgol is Mongolian's largest lake and beach holiday place. Here we abandoned the green Mongolian valley to enter the Taiga, the coniferous forest. We are close to the border with Russian Siberia here

A Journey Through Mongolia (Full Length Documentary)

Mongolia! A Journey through Mongolia is a travel documentary from our one month trip through the great expanses of the Mongolian plains.

We started the trip with a few days in Ulaanbaatar to experience the sprawling metropolis. We also had a chance to go to Hustai National Park not far from UB to see the last remaining wild horse, the Takhi. Then we went on a ten day adventure to go live with the Tsaatan Reindeer Herder tribe in the very north on the border of Siberia. This was an incredible experience and it was very demanding with multiple days on horseback after a long strenuous multi-day 4WD trip. After a short recovery we went to the eastern part of the country to the Bayan-Ölgii Province to attend the Golden Eagle Festival. This festival has really been the focus of the Mongolian travel in recent time, very much because of Aishol-pan the Eagle Huntress. We had a chance to meet this incredible girl who is certainly an inspiration to women across the world. After the festival we went and lived with an eagle hunter family deep in the Altai Mountain Range.

We hope you will enjoy this full length travel documentary and please subscribe to our channel for more adventures around the world. If you have any questions or comments please leave them here and we will be happy to answer if we can.

Mongolia Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Mongolia.
Mongolia is a land between sky, steppes and desert. Extreme, exotic, and mostly undiscovered, home to nomads, ringers, eagle hunters and horsemen. A land of adventure!Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia and is a metropolis set amid the steppes, truly the pulsating heart of the country that combines the cultures of old with a lively feeling of moving towards new horizons. Ganden Hyid is a pilgrimage destination for the faithful from all over Mongolia. They pray and wind prayer mills and crowd into the main sanctuary. In the monastery’s main temple is a twenty six metre high statue of the Buddha Of Mercy, patron saint of Mongolia that is decorated with gold and gems. Almost fifty kilometres east of Ulaanbaatar is a leisure area for the inhabitants of the city, the Terej National Park. Here horse riding is available across country and without limit, a fact that pleases the basic instincts of the Mongolian heart. In Kharkhorin, former residence of those who once ruled Mongolia, today there is little left to see. However, a few mysterious sites remain which, along with the Erdene Zuu Monastery, are highly evocative of this ancient city in Central Mongolia as for thirty two years it was the centre of one of the most powerful empires on Earth. The Magic of Mongolia can be felt by all who come here and this journey across a harsh and contrasting land has been an unforgettable adventure beyond compare.

Ulaanbaatar | Mongolia | Travel Guide ????????

My name is Gabe and on this channel i'm showing you where to travel 2022 and how can you solo travel with a drone in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
I'm not a travel guru, however i'm trying to find the most underrated cities and destination and present them in my solo travel vlog.
Considering subscribing for best backpacking destinations.

Out of Mongolia's slightly over 3 million residents, 1.3 million live in Ulaanbaatar, the nation's economic, cultural, and political hub. It is home to a number of tourist attractions and the most diverse range of entertainment. Although Ulaanbaatar is not always the most straightforward city to traverse, with a little patience, tourists can take care
of all their logistical needs, visit top-notch museums, see traditional theater, and eat food from over the world, and party till three in the morning. In fact, your Mongolian adventure may have been most pleasantly surprised by this dynamic metropolis. There are 122 khoroos and 9 districts in the city. In addition to being surrounded by four holy mountains with dense pine woods on the northern slopes and green steppes on the southern slopes, Ulaanbaatar is situated on the bank of the Tuul River. Ulaanbaatar, which is
frequently described as sunny, calm, and open, is a city of contrasts where modern life harmoniously coexists with Mongolian traditional living.

Facts About Mongolia
**************************************************************************
Mongolia, a nation bordered by China and Russia, is known for vast, rugged expanses and nomadic culture. Its capital, Ulaanbaatar, centers around Chinggis Khaan (Genghis Khan) Square, named for the notorious founder of the 13th- and 14th-century Mongol Empire. Also in Ulaanbaatar are the National Museum of Mongolia, displaying historic and ethnographic artifacts, and the restored 1830 Gandantegchinlen Monastery.
Landlocked Mongolia is located between Russia to the north and China to the south, deep within the interior of eastern Asia far from any ocean. The country has a marked continental climate, with long cold winters and short cool-to-hot summers. Its remarkable variety of scenery consists largely of upland steppes, semideserts, and deserts, although in the west and north forested high mountain ranges alternate with lake-dotted basins. Mongolia is largely a plateau, with an average elevation of about 5,180 feet (1,580 metres) above sea level. The highest peaks are in the Mongolian Altai Mountains (Mongol Altain Nuruu) in the southwest, a branch of the Altai Mountains system.
Mongolia holds the Guinness World Record for the largest wrestling competition in the world. This was for the Mongolian National Wrestling Match in 2011.There are 13 times more horses in Mongolia than humans.
Genghis Khan himself was illiterate, however, he introduced the first writing system to Mongolia in the early 13th century. He borrowed this script from the script of the Uyghurs. This script is written vertically from left to right.
Mongolia adopted the Latin alphabet in the 1930s. It was then replaced with the Cyrillic alphabet in 1941, with two additional letters (ö and ü sounds) otherwise not found in Russian.
Mongolia can be divided into three major topographic zones: the mountain chains that dominate the northern and western areas, the basin areas situated between and around them, and the enormous upland plateau belt that lies across the southern and eastern sectors. The entire country is prone to seismic movements, and some earthquakes are extremely severe. Their effects, however, are limited by the low population density.
Mongolian native horses are the last truly wild horses left on the planet. They have 66 chromosomes, one or two more than the average horse.
A mother with five or more children is celebrated as an Honoured Mother.
Throat singers in Mongolia use the technique to sing through their throat and nose at the same time, producing two different sounds simultaneously. This is popular whilst riding a horse.
