Top 10 Travel Destinations in Tahiti Island French Polynesia

1.La Plage de Maui
La plage de Maui,is one of the only white sand beaches on the island, drawing tourists who seek the comfort of something a little more familiar. It lines Tahiti’s south coast, around PK6, a bit over half an hour away from Papeete. The dazzling piece of sand borders the Bay of Tapueraha, the deepest and most splendid natural harbour on Tahiti.

2.Fautaua Waterfall
Fautaua Waterfall is one of the most spectacular hiking destinations on Tahiti as it passes through beautiful jungle scenery with far-reaching views of the upper waterfall and surrounding mountains. Difficulties encountered on the hike include obtaining the necessary hiking permit, getting transportation to the starting point, avoiding hiking during times of rainy weather, dealing with heat and humidity, crossing a few portions of trail which have exposure, exercising extreme caution if checking out the natural pools above the waterfall, and being prepared for the potential of flash floods.

3.Papenoo Beach
Papenoo Beach (Chinaman's Bay) in Tahiti is an exposed beach and point break that has fairly consistent surf. Summer offers the optimum conditions for surfing. Offshore winds are from the south. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the optimum swell angle is from the north northeast. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. Sometimes crowded. Beware of rips and sharks.

4.Plage du Taharuu
Papara Beach, also known as Plage de Taharuu – is one of the prettiest black sand beaches in Tahiti. It’s long, it’s wide, and the black sand is scorching hot under the afternoon sun!

5.Papeete
Papeete is the capital of French Polynesia, an overseas country of France in the Pacific Ocean. The commune of Papeete is located on the island of Tahiti, in the administrative subdivision of the Windward

6.Moorea
Mo'orea is a South Pacific island, part of French Polynesia's Society Islands archipelago. It's known for its jagged volcanic mountains and sandy beaches. In the north, Mount Rotui overlooks picturesque Ōpūnohu Bay and the settlements around Cook's Bay. Inland, hiking trails wind through rainforest on the slopes of Mount Tohivea. The Belvedere Lookout has panoramic views of the island’s peaks and Tahiti beyond.

7.Museum of Tahiti
The Museum of Tahiti and the Islands (or Musée de Tahiti et des Îles) represents one of the world’s most important repositories of cultural and natural studies concerning the Polynesian archipelago. It is divided into 4 sections covering nature and anthropology, habitations and artifacts, social and religious life and finally the history of French Polynesia.

8.Vaipahi Gardens
The Vaipahi Gardens located along Tahiti’s south coast in the district of Mataiea 49 kilometers (30 miles) from Papeete are rich in cultural heritage and abundant in natural beauty.

9.Surfing
Tahiti is one of the most beautiful and exotic places in the Pacific. It is an amazing place to visit for anyone but an incredible one for a surfer. The island really is a paradise, tropical clear water, great beaches and a laid back island lifestyle.

10.James Norman Hall Museum
James Norman Hall, a World War I army pilot, made a fortuitous friendship with Charles Nordhoff shortly after the war's end, and the pair began collaborating on novels together. In 1920, the writers moved to Tahiti together and wrote several novels including the celebrated Mutiny on the Bounty. This museum, which was opened by Hall's family, contains a number of the author's belongings. You can also take a short staff-led tour of the house, which is an exact reproduction of Hall's home.

Recent visitors said bookworms and history lovers will enjoy this attraction, adding that the guides are helpful and knowledgeable. Travelers were also impressed by the verdant and colorful gardens that surround the home.

Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia Trip 2018

Papeete Tahiti Vacation Packages 2018, Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia Trip 2018, Papeete Tahiti Travel Vlog 2018
Travel Vlog 4K
Papeete is the largest city in and capital of French Polynesia on the island of Tahiti.

Papeete is not a tropical paradise. It is a typical government center and industrial port with small doses of French and Polynesian charm. It has shopping, eating, and drinking, but very little sightseeing for a capital city and even fewer top-class hotels. The residents speak French and Tahitian, although English is spoken by many in the tourist trade. The people-watching is superb.

Papeete International Airport (PPT) is located in the district of Faaa. Air Tahiti is located in the main building and Air Moorea about 100 m away. The following services are available at the airport: bar, self-service and gourmet restaurant, bank, ATM, post office, telephone, boutiques, newspaper stand, car rental agencies, baggage lockers and public restrooms. There is a taxi stand and a truck stop at the airport.

Papeete is a walking city. It's really too small to bother with any other form of transport, unless you are going out to the fringes, or would simply like to experience the famous le truck for fun (hop-on, hop-off, anywhere in the city center for about XPF100!) Bring a water bottle: it can be quite hot and humid.

Taxis are clean and efficient although relatively expensive and may be hard to find after 6pm. There are two dedicated taxi stands along the waterfront. Fares are prescribed by the government and are displayed inside Taxis. The fare is roughly XPF 1000 plus a charge for distance. Hotels will know exactly what the fare is to the city centre. As an example the fare from the Manava Suite Resort to the water front as at 17/4/2014 is XPF2300 before 8:00PM. The fee increases by XPF 1000 after 8:30PM. Meters are unheard of, so confirm the fare before getting into a taxi.

Le Truck will take you to other parts of the island and around town quite cheaply. The service is infrequent or non-existent on weekends.

Buy in Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia
===============================
Black pearls abound. There is just about every kind of store here, including some (particularly near the Marché) who have no problem selling you imitation balls of black glass or fiberglass at market prices. Be sure to look for a certificate of authenticity on the wall of the shop, and trust your guidebook for recommendations.

Eat in Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia
================================
You can go broke eating in this town. There are some fine restaurants but expect to pay US$30 for a hamburger at a hotel restaurant or other proper sit-down establishment.

There are a lot of midrange places where you can expect to pay US$20-30 for your whole meal. French and Chinese are well represented here. Look for the word Snack in the name of the restaurant. There is also a conveyor belt sushi place that's very good, and the chefs are quite friendly there.

The best deal in town is the Roulottes, the food trucks that set up shop every evening in the big square in the waterfront park. Every day they begin setting up around dusk. Chinese, French, and Tahitian cuisine are all well represented. You can get chow mein, poisson cru, crepes, pizza, ice cream, and because this is France, everything comes with bread. Expect to pay about XPF 1500 for your whole meal. Food trucks also set up further from town such as at others Marinas and near hotels.

BORA BORA ISLAND, BEST HONEYMOON DESTINATION

Bora Bora is undoubtedly the most celebrated island in the South Pacific. Bora Bora is one of the few places on earth that everyone hopes to witness in their lifetime. The population on the island is about 9,000 people. The main languages that are spoken by people in Bora Bora Island is French. TOURISM
Bora Bora is a major international tourist destination, famous for its aqua-centric luxury resorts. The island is an internationally acclaimed honeymoon destination. The airport is located on a small, separate part of the island known as Motu Mete.
BEST TIME TO GO
The climate in Bora Bora and the surrounding Islands are considered to be tropical. Like with most places the seasons can be divided into two seasons: the wet season and the dry season.
The best times to go to Bora Bora are November and April. These short shoulder seasons offer fine weather with temperatures in the mid-70s to mid-80s. High season runs from May to October. Low season stretches from December to March when the weather is wet. But really anytime is a good time to visit Bora Bora, since the weather is warm year-round.

2 Weeks in Paradise: Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea in 4K

We had an amazing 2 weeks during our vacation / honeymoon in French Polynesia: we went to Tahiti, Bora Bora, and Moorea. This paradise had some of the best snorkeling we've ever experienced; this might be one of the best places in the world to snorkel. We saw so many varieties of fish, sharks, sting rays, octopuses, manta rays, moray eels, corals, and more. On land, the beaches and scenery were breathtaking. The islands were filled with beautiful sandy beaches everywhere. The jungle was also so lush, and did not have dangerous animals. And the over water bungalows at the hotels were amazing!
