SUMMARY
-Every year when the snow and frozen water melt, Roopkund Lake in the Himalayas reveals 300 skeletons dumped in it.
-The Hessdalen Lights occasionally turn yellowish or reddish, and nobody knows what makes them change color.
-Canadian fur trapper Joe Labelle came to a village located on the shore of Lake Anjikuni to find it completely deserted.
-Some folks call the Devil's Sea the Pacific Bermuda Triangle since ships and planes tend to disappear there with the same regularity as its North Atlantic counterpart.
-The Lake Michigan Triangle has been gaining its notorious reputation since 1891 when a ship disappeared in its waters, along with its crew of seven sailors.
-If you turn off the engine of your car and leave it in neutral on the Magnetic Hill, your vehicle will start climbing ahead, possibly at a speed of 12 miles per hour.
-About a mile before the river empties into Lake Superior, a rocky outcrop splits it in two. And while the eastern flow drops 50 feet down and keeps flowing into the lake, the western part travels 10 feet down into a giant hole... and vanishes.
-Located in Siberia, the Patomskiy Crater is described as a mound with a perfectly circular shape. It’s as big as a 25-story building, sits right in the middle of a wooded area with its top chopped off, and presents quite a sight.
-The Boling River really is steaming hot. At a temperature of 187°F, it’s not exactly boiling, but it’s pretty close.
-Located on the thin Curonian Spit that divides the Baltic Sea from the Curonian Lagoon is one of the strangest places on Earth. The pine trees in this forest have shockingly unusual shapes: they twist in spirals and circles along the ground.

9 Mysterious Places That Leave Scientists Confused

The history of the world is full of surprising mysteries. None of us will live long enough to see them all solved. Scientists have already discovered a lot about the Universe, but there are some real places out there that even leave them completely baffled! Have you ever heard, for example, about boiling river or never-ending lightning storm?

SUMMARY:
- For a very long time, scientists couldn’t figure out what the reason was behind this crimson fall. At first, they believed that red algae gave the water its gory tint. But new studies found that iron oxides are present in the water.
- Despite these islands constantly moving, locals build their huts on them because most people in the area earn money by fishing in the lake.
- In the hot Karakum Desert in Turkmenistan, there’s a 226-foot-wide hole that’s been on fire for almost 50 years!
- If “lightning never strikes the same place twice” then apparently this unique spot in Venezuela where the Catatumbo River meets Lake Maracaibo didn’t get the memo. Here, there’s an average of 260 storm days and about 1.2 million lightning bolts striking it a year.
- Located deep in the Peruvian Amazon, this 4-mile-long river known as Shanay-Timpishka gets as hot as 196°F, which obviously means no swimming if you don’t wanna become soup!
- The devastating flood that hit Kerala, India last year almost submerged the whole state underwater. But then the locals saw a narrow strip of sand that had surfaced from the water along the beach and literally split the sea into two.
- While the national average of twin births is no more than 9 in 1,000, the number is as high as 45 in 1,000 in Kodinhi.
- Speaking of mysterious villages, this real-life and literal sleepy hollow is the remote town of Kalachi in Kazakhstan. In 2013, locals couldn’t stop falling asleep while they were doing everyday activities.
- This mystical well is located near the River Nidd, which runs through Knaresborough in North Yorkshire, UK. Oh yeah, and its water is known for turning objects into stone!

Scientists Can't Explain the Mysterious Zone of Silence

Pilot Francisco Sarabia was flying over a patch of desert land in Mexico when his instruments started to act increasingly odd. His radio equipment was failing too. The man had to make an emergency landing in the middle of nowhere. Little did he know that this nowhere would be later dubbed the Zone of Silence, and the mystery behind this place would equal that of the infamous Bermuda Triangle.

So if you ever find yourself in a desert, 25 miles away from Ceballos, Mexico, and just 400 miles to the south of El Paso, Texas, get yourself ready - you're in the Mapimí Silent Zone, and some bizarre things might start to happen right away.

SUMMARY:
- Weird radio silence isn't the only oddity of the creepy Zone. Like, what’s that weird trio that locals keep meeting in the Zone? They’re two men and a woman. Every time people see them, they’re wearing bizarre clothing that isn't suitable for a journey in the desert whatsoever.
- On top of all that, the Zone of Silence is known as a 30-mile (50 km) patch of deserted land where meteorites come crashing down on an eerily regular basis. In the 20th century alone, there were quite a number of such crashes.
- On July 11, 1970, the US launched an ATHENA rocket from the Air Force base in Green River, Utah. But here's the thing: the rocket was supposed to land somewhere in the area of White Sands in New Mexico. Instead, it went off course and, as if being pulled by some external force, crashed right in the heart of the Zone of Silence.
- In the process, the search party could tell that something was tampering with all their communications. That's why it was incredibly difficult to coordinate the work of the teams.
- Scientists have been trying to explain the things happening in the Zone of Silence for years. The most plausible conclusion they've drawn so far is the influence of minerals that are deposited deep underground.
- On the other hand, some experts disagree that the Zone of Silence attracts more meteorites than any other place on Earth.
- But even skeptics can't deny that there’ve been cases of radio communication loss and weird signal tampering. On the other hand, this phenomenon may have another rational explanation: the Zone of Silence is surrounded by a mountain range which can easily cause interference.
- But even without these stories and blood-chilling legends, the zone is nothing short of marvelous. Scientists say that the environment of the area is genuinely unique, with its own flora and fauna species.

12 Strange Sounds on Earth Science Can’t Explain

For years, scientists have been struggling to explain bizarre sounds - some repeating, some heard only once - that fill the atmosphere of our planet. From bewildering hums to worrying sonic booms and bloops, yes, bloops -- the air is literally filled with outlandish acoustic phenomena. And most of these sounds still leave researchers scratching their heads.

Have you ever heard, for example, that astronomers found a singing black hole? Scientists say that the black hole has been performing the longest-lasting symphony known to us humans, and this symphony is being played at the lowest note in the universe at that!

TIMESTAMPS:
The Upsweep 0:38
Skyquakes 1:31
The Sound of Apocalypse 2:42
Bristol Hum 3:38
The Taos Hum 4:45
The Whistle 5:43
The Bloop 6:29
Slow Down 7:49
The Loneliest Whale 8:33
Julia 9:23
Storms of Jupiter 9:56
A Singing Black Hole 10:37

#sounds #mystery #brightside

SUMMARY:
- #1. This sound varies from high to low frequencies and then back again, and you can hear it better in the spring and fall than in the winter and summer.
- #2. You don't need to travel to a particular part of the world to hear a skyquake. Mysterious sonic booms ramble from the skies everywhere, from the US to India and Japan.
- #3. Until recently, nobody could understand the origin of the sounds, but these days NASA claims that there's nothing to be afraid of. The noise could be a naturally occurring sound from our own planet.
- #4. It started in the 1970s, when hundreds of Bristol's inhabitants began to complain about a bizarre noise audible only at night. The noise was a low-level hum, and nobody could identify or trace the source of the sounds.
- #5. This phenomenon is a faint low-frequency hum ringing in the desert air, and grating on your nerves. Even stranger, only 2 percent of the people who live in Taos hear this noise.
- #6. Ever heard that annoying sound when a kettle of boiling water is informing you that it's time to make a cup of tea? Well, then you can imagine what the Whistle sounds like.
- #7. One of the most powerful and famous unexplained sounds on our planet, The Bloop was recorded in 1997 by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and continued for approximately 1 minute.
- #8. The noise got its curious name because it usually lasts for about 7 minutes, gradually decreasing in frequency.
- #9. This sound is often called 52-hertz whale because the animal that creates it calls at a unique frequency for these creatures - 52 hertz. When you listen to this noise, it sounds like a low bass note.
- #10. Scientists claim that the sound could be made by an Antarctic iceberg that ran aground, but then, what size must this iceberg be to create so much noise?
- #11. As NASA's Juno spacecraft was approaching its destination - Jupiter - on July 4, 2016, it recorded a bizarre mixture of roaring and screeching sounds. This cacophony wouldn't stop for more than 2 hours.
- #12. Not only have astronomers confirmed that black holes can sing, but they've actually found one that's been doing it for 2 billion years!

10 Unique Places Where Gravity Is Zero

Planet Earth lives by the laws of gravity discovered by Sir Isaac Newton. Gravity is constant. It's something entirely unshakeable that we can always rely on in this ever-changing world, right? Umm, not really. In fact, it’s not as honest and clear as you think.

There are gravitational anomalies in some places where gravity behaves like it’s gone crazy. In such places this law can’t be applied: there, a car can go uphill with its engine off, a waterfall doesn’t fall, and a very heavy boulder can sit on top of a rock at a very strange angle without tumbling down.

TIMESTAMPS:
Where cars crawl upwards 0:40
Where trees twist to the north at the roots 1:41
Where a waterfall moves upwards 2:30
Where water flows up instead of spilling down 3:14
Where different objects roll uphill 3:59
Where a boulder sits upon the edge of a cliff 4:43
One more boulder defying gravity 5:41
Devils Tower 6:54
Where you can’t stand straight 7:58
The Hudson Bay anomaly 8:54

#gravity #anomaly #brightside

SUMMARY:
- There’s a stretch of road in India that’s been attracting tourists from all over the world. If you stop your car on the Magnetic Hill going up the slope and put it on neutral, it’ll start crawling upwards, eventually reaching the speed of up to 12 mph.
- Near the village of Nowe Czarnowo, there’s a forest, in the depth of which you can find a strangely looking pine grove. Planted in 1930s, there are 400 trees that sharply twist to the north almost at the roots and then grow upwards in a semicircle.
- Ever seen an upward moving waterfall? You can have a look at one on the Faroe Islands halfway from Iceland to Scotland.
- If you ever get up to the top of the dam, which is about 726 ft high, you can try a little trick: take a bottle of water and pour it over the edge. You’ll see the water flow up instead of spilling down.
- Another gravitational anomaly located on a road. Locals once found out that, if you put an empty can or a bottle on the ground, it will immediately start rolling uphill.
- If you happen to be in Burma, make sure to visit this well-known site. A gold-leaf covered boulder sits upon the edge of a cliff, and a small pagoda is built on top of it. The impressive thing about the rock is that it only lightly touches the cliff for support.
- If there ever was a thing that said “I defy gravity” out loud, it’s the Stone of Davasco. The huge 300-ton boulder stands precariously on the edge of a cliff and rocks a little bit from side to side in the wind.
- The true mind-blowing feature of Devils Tower is that scientists can’t explain how it came to existence in the first place. You see, it’s an 867-foot rock formation with walls so steep they’re basically vertical. This piece of stone just rose amid rolling plains of Wyoming with nothing like it for miles and miles around.-
- The House of Mystery in Gold Hill, Oregon, amazes its visitors with gravity-defying effects: you can’t stand straight there, always leaning to the side and having to hold on to something for balance.
- Hudson Bay, Canada, is probably the only place in the world where gravity is indeed lower than anywhere else on the planet! Even skeptics can’t smirk at it because the difference has been measured with precision equipment.

We’re all fascinated by legends and unrevealed truths, even more when they’re related with beautiful, breathtaking historical constructions. Stay tuned to discover our selection of the most fascinating and mysterious monuments and structures around the globe!

Stonehenge, U.K.. On the top of our list we have Stonehenge, a prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, England. One of the most famous landmarks in the United Kingdom, Stonehenge is regarded as a British cultural icon. The site and its surroundings were added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites in 1986. Surrounded by several hundred burial mounds and located far from the source of its megalithic stones, Stonehenge is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most mysterious monuments in the world. Easter Island, Chile. What can scream “mystery” more than giant 80-ton stone heads on a completely treeless island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, amid currents that would have made said island really hard to stumble across? On top of mysterious monuments, Easter Island (or Rapa Nui) is the one place we could not leave out! It is believed that the inhabitants of the site originally arrived from Polynesia. Easter Island is famous for its giant heads, which are called moai. They were built from the island’s stone quarries and were moved to their current positions. Finish this video for more Unknown statues and structures around the world that still can't be explained.

Scientists Removed Water from an Old British Bridge But Couldn't Believe Their Eyes

There are places swarming with dark secrets, forbidden passages, and hidden rooms. Few people are aware of the existence of these places, but occasionally, someone will accidentally fall across a sealed door or locked room, and the mystery is unraveled.

Approximately 60 miles away from London, there is a beautiful old palace. Future British Prime Minister Winston Churchill was born within its walls. In 1768, the insides of the abandoned bridge got flooded. Lately, two of the lakes, the Queen Pool and the Great Lake, have been steadily drying out. Not so long ago, the decision was made to restore the Grand Bridge. The engineers constructed a labyrinth of dams, siphons, and groundwater wells, and as soon as the water level dropped by 6.5 ft, a shocking truth was revealed.

SUMMARY:
- The thing is that lately, two of the lakes, the Queen Pool and the Great Lake, have been steadily drying out. Experts were worried that if the lakes were to run completely dry, the bridge would become unstable.
- But not so long ago, in October 2018, the decision was made to restore the Grand Bridge. Undaunted by the $15-million reconstruction cost, work began to bring back one of the most beautiful views in England to life.
- It turned out that the bridge housed more than 30 rooms, and plaster on the walls indicated that people may have lived there in the early 18th century.
- With the help of a full internal 3D survey, the scientists were able to explore the eerie place. They discovered stairways and fireplaces, chimneys and strange chambers without windows, graffiti which dated back to the 1760s and broken and sunken boats used in the 1950s for reed cutting.
- The New Yorker Hotel in, well, New York is home to countless untold secrets, such as a mysterious Art Deco tunnel. This tunnel, safely concealed under 34th Street, goes from the hotel's lobby all the way to Penn station.
- One of the busiest railway stations in Melbourne, Australia, is Flinders Street Station. What most of these people don't know is that an old ballroom hides on the station’s third floor and is rarely open to visitors.
- Who would think that underneath the elegant Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York, there is a secret railway station! It used to be a wartime escape route.
- Did you know that at Mount Rushmore, right behind Abraham Lincoln's head, there is a tiny room, so small that it can barely fit several visitors?
- Rome is almost always crowded with people. And while more than 4 million visitors come to see the Colosseum each year, very few know that under this world-famous tourist attraction, there is a vast network of tunnels.
- More than 300,000 commuters go through Milan's central railway station, the Stazione Centrale, every single day. Most of them have no idea that behind the closed doors they pass is the most lavish and exclusive room in the whole building, Royal Pavilion.
- Despite the Eiffel Tower's fame, few people know that it hides a tiny secret. It's a cozy little apartment near the top of the tower. Gustave Eiffel, the creator of the magnificent construction, left this hidden nook for himself.

11 Places More Mysterious Than Bermuda Triangle

It’s one of the most terrifyingly fascinating places on our planet. Ships and planes simply vanish, radios and compasses just stop working, and some even say they’ve spotted strange objects there. And it's not the one and only Bermuda Triangle. There are at least 11 other mysterious places. So what are they, and how do they form?

Ivan T. Sanderson, a writer, a biologist, and a huge fan of the paranormal and inexplicable, traveled a lot and recorded his experiences. What caught his attention the most was where the strangest unexplained things kept happening. That is, disappearing ships and whatnot. He was able to map 12 of these places scattered all over the world. But the weird thing is, 6 of them lie almost perfectly in line above the Equator, and the same goes for the 6 below it...

TIMESTAMPS:
The Bermuda Triangle 1:11
The Algerian Megaliths 2:14
Mohenjo-Daro 3:02
The Dragon’s Triangle 3:44
The Hamakulia Volcano 4:30
Easter Island 4:59
The South Atlantic Anomaly 5:44
Great Zimbabwe 6:20
The Wharton Basin 6:53
The Loyalty Islands 7:27
The North and South Poles 8:06

Theories about these Vile Vortices:
- Ley lines 8:52
- Giant puzzle 9:32
- A lot of geologic activity 10:04

#mystery #bermudatriangle #brightside

SUMMARY:
- Besides the paranormal theories of wormholes to another dimension and gates to the underworld, the Bermuda Triangle is really foggy due to methane gas that sometimes makes it impossible for travelers to see, thus making navigation a little tricky too.
- The Algerian Megaliths are an architectural anomaly, showing just how advanced these people were for a time when we didn’t have the technology to help us build stable constructions.
- Mohenjo-Daro in Pakistan goes way back to the Indus Valley Civilization in 2500 BCE. Like in Algeria, this society was, for some reason, surprisingly advanced when it came to building and urban planning.
- Heading further east along the same northern line, we arrive in Japan, where the Dragon’s Triangle, also called the Devil’s Sea, is located. The most astonishing thing about this Vile Vortex is that there’s an underwater city dubbed Japan’s Atlantis.
- Located in the Ring of Fire, the next Vile Vortex is the Hamakulia Volcano in Hawaii. Locals treat it with utmost respect as the volcano is believed to have a mysterious power.
- Now let’s head south of the Equator to one of the most isolated places on this planet: Easter Island in Polynesia. This is where you can find nearly 900 Moai statues created by the Rapa Nui people.
- The South Atlantic Anomaly is a part of Earth where natural radiation flows out of control.
- Another impressive megalith, this time in Zimbabwe. It was once home to around 20,000 people… but it’s now a ghost town.
- Poor Australia has Vile Vortices on both sides. Heading over to the east, there’s the Loyalty Islands. A lot of strange whirlpools were found on this patch of the South Pacific as well as plenty of geologic activity.
- The North and South Poles are on opposite ends of the planet, but they’ve got two things in common: ice and odd disappearances.

Places on Earth Where Gravity DOESN'T WORK RIGHT!

Newton's law of Universal Gravitation states that every particle attracts every other particle with a force directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers.
Although this law applies to every particle, there are some places on this planet that seem to completely ignore it.
Here are 5 Places on Earth Where Gravity, DOESN'T WORK RIGHT!

1. Mount Aragats, Armenia
Thousands of tourists travel here to experience the odd phenomena that happens at The Gravity Hill. If you stop your car and put it in neutral and then release the brake your car begins to travel uphill. Pedestrians find it surprisingly easy to climb the hill and there are also various rivers in the area that flow upwards!

2. The Mystery Spot, Santa Cruz, California
Electrician George Prather discovered this location in 1939, while he was out walking, he suddenly felt dizzy and noticed that things didn't quite feel right in this area. Intrigued, he bought 3 acres of the land and proceeded to build a house on it. To help demonstrate the oddities of the area, George built the house at a 20-degree angle thus exaggerating the antigravity effect of the area.

3. The Oregon Vortex, Oregon
According to local legend, this site was referred to by Native Americans as the forbidden ground. An assay office built by Old Grey Mining company in 1904 slid off its foundations and ended up at an odd angle, accentuating the gravitational oddities of the area. People seem to grow or shrink, balls roll uphill, things seem to hang at odd angles, and visitor's bodies lean towards Magnetic North.

4. The Golden Boulder, Myanmar
This gigantic boulder had a pagoda built on it and was painted gold by the locals and has been defying gravity for 2500 years! Perched impossibly on a rock, 50 foot up, Legend has it that it is held there by Buddha's hair and can only be moved by a woman, hence no women are allowed to touch it.

5. Magnetic Hill, Black Rock, Australia
On the Black Rock Road is a place called Magnetic hill, a place where the power of magnetism seems to overpower that of gravity. When you get there you'll find a signpost telling you to turn your Ignition off, select neutral, and let go of the brakes. if your vehicle is steel you'll roll uphill, if it's aluminium or plastic you'll roll down.

6. Backwards Waterfall
When it comes to antigravitational phenomena, perhaps none are quite as spectacular as this waterfall where the water doesn't fall! some locals believe that this happens because gravity has less effect on the area around the falls, but scientists claim that it is due to strong air currents blowing the water up.

A Plane Disappeared And Landed 37 Years Later

What would you do if you went on a vacation to another city and suddenly found yourself in another country altogether? Most of us would be confused. Even the most reckless of adventurers would at least raise an eyebrow if told they’d flown for close to half a century.

On July 2, 1955, Pan American Flight 914 made its way from New York to Miami, Florida. It was a fine sunny day, and 57 passengers on board the plane were looking forward to seeing the warm beaches and palm trees of Florida. The plane took off without trouble, but 3 hours later, when it should’ve already landed at the destination airport, it was nowhere to be seen. When air traffic control contacted the New York tower, they got a perplexing reply: Flight 914 just disappeared from the radars in mid-air.

- Everything indicated that the plane was lost: apart from having vanished from the radars, air traffic control couldn’t get through to the pilots with the radio.
- Eventually, although the case was never really solved, there was an official statement that the plane crashed, taking the lives of everyone on board.
- Change of scenery. It’s now September 9, 1992, and we’re in Caracas, Venezuela. It’s a perfectly normal day for Juan de la Corte, air traffic controller at the Caracas airport.
- Seemingly out of nowhere, a new dot appeared on the radar. It was as if an aircraft had just popped up from nothingness, or as if it had been hiding from the radar and now decided to show up.
- In less than 10 minutes, the culprit showed up in the field of vision. At first it looked to the air traffic control like an ordinary airplane, but as it got closer, they could see that it was, in fact, very oldю
- The real confusion began when the pilot of the mysterious aircraft contacted the tower and asked in English, “Where are we?”
- The pilot said his flight was scheduled to land at the Miami airport at 9.55 am on July 2, 1955. Now it was time for the tower to fall into silence.
- Ground units were immediately called to assist the plane and the passengers, and it landed without trouble. Having relaxed a little bit, Juan finally decided to ask something that bothered him. “Do you know today is May 21, 1992?”
- Juan heard the flight captain’s panicky voice saying, “No! Stay away! We’re leaving now!” And indeed, he started the engines again and, without waiting for take-off clearance, taxied the plane to the runway.
- There’s much dispute about the credibility of this event. Back in 1985, a tabloid called Weekly World News was the first to cover this story.
- However, the legend still lives, and many sources retell it in their own way. Some even go as far as to say that the passengers of the plane eventually returned to their homes.
- One thing that keeps popping up on the Internet and piquing the interest of paranormal enthusiasts is a small pocket calendar that somehow was left on the Caracas airport runway when the notorious plane took off.
